Our builder grade 1990s wood windows, door, transom and site-lite windows had all suffered from age and neglected painting. This is the second time that we hired Zen Windows for a project, and we could not be more pleased with the service, professionalism and the results on both occasions. They are very responsive, helped us identify the right products and made the entire process as stress-free as possible. Bottom Line: This is the first time we have used this company, and they did excellent work for a reasonable price, and more importantly, built a huge amount of trust with the customer. Communication: Scheduling the initial estimate was easy, but the back-and-forth communication required to finalize the many detailed options was a bit slow; however, the owner Scott Halle interceded and timely communication continued throughout the rest of the process. Scoping Work: This is where Zen Windows really excels, primarily because of the vast knowledge of James Bond. We wanted to replace the single door with side transoms with something that would maximize the opening space. James expertly walked us through the options with cost and wall modification comparisons. In addition, the header above the current door was swelling and pinning the door, and James evaluated the issue, likely water seeping down from an unflashed deck, and provided peace of mind his guys could fix it on site during installation. Quality of Work: Frankly, 75-80% of contractors fail here for three primary reasons: a horrible handoff from the product specialist to the onsite project foreman, project foreman and workers making assumptions about details vice asking the customer, and lack of quality detailed work. The foreman excelled in these areas ensuring we were on the same page for various details such as casing, caulking, and external trim. In addition, he completely replaced the rotted wood structure above and along the sides of the door and added customer-provided insulation where there were gaps. To keep the project on track, they brought in another expert worker and management arrived to ensure the quality of work was high. The end product was beautiful. Pricing: Price was the best of three highly ranked Angie’s List companies. Zen Windows’ expertise, willingness to explain the details of the project, timely communication, and excellent work took the hassle out of this project.

Zen Windows advertises that they make things easy, and that they do. Zen windows doesn’t just make things easy, they have quality products, reasonable prices and exceptional service. We just had an entry door replaced and everyone we worked with was great. While they don’t push you into buying any products, they do go out of the way to help you make the right decisions. Everything went exactly as they told us, the installers were top notch and the finished product looks great. Without hesitation, we would highly recommend Zen Windows to anyone looking for doors or windows.

Zen windows just replaced 57 windows in my 22-year old house and did a fantastic job. I did my research and had 4 different estimates. They were very competitive and used a solid product (ProVia Windows) , not to mention and lifetime warranty on windows and labor that is transferrable. Hopefully, I will never have to use the warranty. Here is why I recommend them: 1.Easy estimate/ quote and negotiations. David, the sales guy, was very responsive to my questions even at 9pm at night. He also arrived on time and came back to answer more questions. 2. Product (ProVia Endure Window) seems like a solid and good quality product. ProVia is known for their doors and recently moved into the windows around 2010. We go the Endure brand- great energy efficiency with u-factor .27 and solar heat gain coefficient at 0.19. 3. Payment due at the END of installation. No down payment needed. They accept payment plans. Took about 10 weeks for windows to arrive 4. The Measurement guy (I think his name is Michael), very professional and arrived on time-had to come twice as I added a last minute window. - I was told the last window would arrive late and that installation would occur at a different time, but they all arrived on time. 5. They had 2 Crews working and they were great. Because of all the demo, my house looked like a war zone. But they were very respectful and cleaned after themselves. It took 2.5 days. They took down all the window treatments/ blinds, tore down the existing windows, replaced them all. We had some dry rot on one window and they replaced it (charged me for materials and time). They DO NOT do any spackling or painting FYI. (If you know you have a problem with a leaking window, MAKE SURE you check the wood prior to having them put the new windows up. - That would be the only concern that I had. I missed looking at the window sill prior to them replacing them but they said the wood was not dry rotted like the other one. They said not to worry though b/c of the warranty. Personally, I don't want to have to deal with the warranty but that did give me some piece of mind.) They cleaned all the windows and checked each window and put the curtains/ blinds back that I wanted to keep I also had 2 screens that were damaged and one lock that was not working. They fixed the screens, and someone will come tomorrow to fix the lock (one week later) 6. Job walk through and instructions on how to use the windows were done with Luis (supervisor) and again with James the lead foreman. James also called every night to check on how things were going. I also liked that we discussed final payment before it was due. OVERALL, a solid company with a good product. Of note, soon after the job was done, we had temps in the 80-90s and did not need to turn on our AC until the 3rd day. the windows were able to keep the house insulated. Normally we would have had to put the AC on the first day it in the 80s. Happy so far!

The process with Zen Windows from start to finish was exemplary. David, the sales rep, the second measurer, office staff, James the production manager and Scott the owner could not have been more pleasant. We replaced 7 really bad windows and have just a few others to replace in addition to a new front door. The installers respected our home, did an excellent job from start to finish, couldn't be happier with the whole experience with Zen Windows!

I am very satisfied with the windows. The crew was punctual, skilled, tidy, and professional. Mark did a great job on the measurement visit. My house is almost 200 years old so the window openings are not typical. All the windows fit well and look good.

Pros: - From their very first visit, they were actually willing to listen to what I wanted to get done and made the best recommendations based on my budget - It was a 0 pressure visit, they came in, we talked about wants/needs/use of windows&doors, they measured and they left. Scott made it very clear that he wasn't there to make us sit through a 45 minute spiel about how desperately we need news windows and doors but also gave us all of the time we needed. It was just the right balance. - Scott's turnaround time with the information and spec sheets was very fast - Once you commit to your new products, you don't pay until they actually install. It was nice not to have to worry about that. - Install day was quick, easy and very clean. The work done was meticulous and the installers were very respectful. We even got a courtesy visit from one of the PM's, just because. - Follow up was easy and concise. No extra fluff, just the info we needed to know. Cons: - I'm going to end up giving them all of my money! I can't wait to have Scott and Zen Windows back for more projects.

AMAZING sums up this business in one word and I’m more than happy to refer them to anyone and everyone. After several astronomical window/door quotes (usually from door-to-door salesman that employee unnecessarily long presentations and either try to woo you into purchasing with rapport-building or pressure sales), I gave up my hunt to replace my front door and bay windows. It wasn’t until a friend in my community mentioned they were having their windows done and were very happy with the local small business they used, that I decided to give them a call. I already knew the couple to be savvy and thoughtful with who they hire, but they reassured me even so. Scott, the owner of Zen Windows, found a convenient time to assess my house and inquire about my needs. He is definitely experienced in his niche and could easily explain products available and share his best recommendations and their features. I was already jaded by prior quotes and he gave super-patient, exceptional white glove service, didn’t oversell anything I didn’t need and didn’t use ANY pressure tactics to close the deal. He even came out a second time with his associate James, also friendly and knowledgeable) when I had questions about the quote. Keep in mind that this was not a large order either, but he wanted to make sure I was comfortable with the transaction and we reviewed every itemized bit of it. Me sharing pricing here means absolutely nothing since all projects (including project scope, product/feature selection are unique), but I will tell you that I am EXTREMELY happy with the pricing received and actually significantly increased the scope of the job because of their pricing, integrity, quality product and LIFETIME WARRANTY. He forewarned me of covid-related supply and logistics delays across the industry; which I fully expected. While I was excited for the project, it was not urgent. And, while you do sign your order as a contract (it’s a promise to purchase) before your order is made, you don’t pay even a dime before the entire project is installed, explained and completed to your liking. This company employs highly skilled teams of window professionals to install their product and my team was different than my friend’s (who they were happy with). My guys were equally good (Actually, my team of 3 were GREAT: punctual, professional, respectful, tidy, thorough, hard-working, knowledgeable, theycommunicated with me as they progressed through the job and did a great job. They were super appreciative of lunch and a good tip for the amazing job they did. Also, management (Scott & James) check in with them at the beginning, middle and end of the job to make sure all is in order; even communicating forecasted installation notes to the install team to ensure a smooth procedure. Also, windows were measured at the quote, a second time before Zen orders from the manufacturers and by the installer measures again at arrival before they even unload the truck. When all products were installed, I received a tutorial for product features and showed how to use them (opening windows multiple ways, dual lock systems, tips, etc). Then, they were patient with my questions and while I tried my hand at the demos. My yard was all cleaned up and house vacuumed afterward too. Following the install, I was given warranty and product pamphlets/guides too. Again, it’s a lifetime warranty, so that’s awesome. Another thing to note is that since they are so knowledgeable about their product, they can provide all types of feature/detail recommendations to meet my needs (color match to prevent HOA issues), retractable storm door screen to combat the fierce sun that beats on my front door year round, keying the storm door to match the front door, etc). I’m extremely happy with Zen. DEFINITELY DO YOURSELF A FAVOR: give Zen a chance to earn your business. I’m confident you’ll be happy with their no-pressure approach, stellar customer service, industry expertise, quality product and their great pricing. My friend already placed a second order with them and I’ll be using them for future work!

Door came in ahead of schedule. Crew went out of their way to install quickly. Installation process was quick, clean and precise. Price was comparable to or lower than three other companies I checked. Scott (the owner) is very responsive to calls and emails (and does not offer a BS 2 hour presentation about superiority of the company or product over others - do yourself a favor and just say no to anyone that asks you to block 90-120 minutes of your day for a sales pitch). The whole process from start to finish was easy and painless. Scott was very responsive and answered all of our questions and concerns. We sat through two other windows consultation, and they were both hard sales pitches. I like Zen Windows' business model. We went with Zen Windows because of their warranty, price, and their great reviews. His crew did a great job during installation as well. We had old metal frame windows along with storm windows on the outside, so the job took a bit longer, but it was well worth it. We replaced it with their Lotus windows by Soft-Lite. We love our new windows. I would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future!
