"The contractor we hired to do the work went out of business without telling us and we were stuck. Brian to the rescue. Even though our roof was much steeper than he usually works on he agreed to replace the glass in our three skylights. He did an excellent job and I couldn't be more thrilled. He prepped the roof one day and finished the job the next. It is a real treat to be able to see through our skylights again. Thank you Brian."

"I contacted M and J roofing about a leak. Lous response was quick and after inspecting my roof responded with urgency. I had many roofs installed over the past several years none of which seem to work due to the pitch. The most recent roof I put on was a metal roof, which was the source of many of the problems. After Lou inspected it he told me what needed to be done and after agreeing on the contract he started immediately. They are prompt and professional and both him and his son Nick are two of the kindest human beings I ever met. They told me they'd be here at 8:00 a.m. and they were here before that, they started at 8:00 and we're done by the end of the day. Lou and Nick kept me posted each step of the way and during the removal of the metal roof they showed me what went wrong and explained why it went wrong. In short it was because of companies or people that install roofs that don't care about their work that care about ripping off unsuspecting customers. That is why in closing I will say M and J roofing should be the only and I am stressing only company anybody should want to do any work on their roof."

"I had a great experience with Global roofing. Fredy was quick to get back to me to set up a time to meet and assess the issue. He was very easy to communicate with throughout the process. "I would like to give a big shout out to Jay, who provided us with a quote to replace our roof. He did a great job communicating with us throughout the entire project. His team did an outstanding job replacing our roof. They protected our landscaping and did a thorough clean up after roof installation was complete. The team arrived promptly in the morning and worked tirelessly that day until the job was complete. They were professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Modern Roofing. They have a great value for the money."

Customers say: Super punctual

"L&L made several visit including Saturday and Sunday to evaluate the job and made several suggestions as to the best way to replace the roof without any damage to the interior of our house. They promised to pick a good day to do the job and complete the job in one day. They arrived at about 7:30 AM with a crew of about 10 workers and had the complete roof replaced and the yard completely cleaned up before 4:30 PM. This included new lead flashing for the chimney and replacing 2 sheets of plywood. In addition they guaranteed the workmanship of the roof for as long as we owned the house. We had no problems at all.

"I was very happy with the work John and his crew did to repair my roof. He initially came to give me an estimate on the work but between the weather forecast calling for heavy rain tomorrow and a last minute cancellation from one of his other customers, John gathered his crew and got the job done on the same day! Can't ask for better service! And now I won't have to worry about another ceiling leak when in pours tomorrow. Thanks so much!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Common problems include loose or missing shingles, leaks, and weather damage. Regular inspections help prevent major repairs.

A gable roof costs between $13,000 and $30,000, depending on the size of your roof, the materials you use, and the type of gable roof you install. If you’re building a gable roof for new construction or as part of a major home remodel, your pricing will also depend on the type of roof trusses you use, how accessible your property is, and some other factors.

Yes, capped chimneys should still be vented. Failing to vent a chimney will result in condensation buildup inside the chimney, which commonly results in mold growth. If mold begins to grow in a chimney, it frequently goes undetected and spreads quickly through the home. Mold and moisture can damage the structural integrity of your home, and exposure to mold can cause discomfort and illness in residents.

Your chimney needs a structurally sound chimney cap, protective lining, damper, chimney flashing, and brick and mortar to prevent water from goind down your chimney. A pro can help you identify where the issue is so that you can stop water from coming down the smoke shaft, through your damper, and into your home.

Yes, you have to get on the roof to cut a hole for solar tubing. It's not possible to complete the job from inside your house by simply cutting through the ceiling. So if you want to go the DIY route, remember to use safe ladder practices. If you’re not comfortable climbing on your roof to install solar tubes, hire a pro who has the tools and expertise to do the job safely.
