"We love our cabinets! They look fantastic while remaining affordable. The friendly staff at AWD helped us from start to finish. They are very knowledgeable and gave us advice and tips when needed. They were receptive and patient with our ever-changing needs. Once we finalized our purchase, we received our cabinets within two weeks! The cabinets are very sturdy and the color is beautiful. The hinges and hardware are high quality. We are extremely pleased with AWD and would recommend them to any friends or family looking for good cabinets at a fair price."

"Matt was on time, professional and left the area neat and clean. I am so happy I had our master bedroom closets done (his & her). My husband came home and was very happy and surprised at the quality and space that was added to his closet. Would hire again."

"I had a difficult repair project in my living room ceiling with a large crack in one area and additional damage in other areas of the ceiling. I spoke with five contractors. Oliver Beer, who owns Bauhaus Construction came up with the best and most creative solution (and the most economical) of all. What differentiated Oliver was his overall vision of the project (which to start was a complicated ceiling repair, but the condo needed an overall major renovation). Oliver is a perfectionist and his attention to detail and thinking 10 steps ahead as well as his overall organization are unmatched with any other contractor I've dealt with in owning different homes over 25 years. Oliver has more than given me my money's worth and in fact, Oliver's work ethic and work product led me to hire Oliver for a major renovation / rehab of the entire condo unit including a very difficult top to bottom painting job (smoke damage), floor removal and installation, dozens of miscellaneous repairs, plumbing and electrical work etc.. Oliver also has lots of good connections and hooked me up with good deals on a container, vent cleaning and other services. Once that piece of the project is complete I'll post before and after pictures."

"Great company that delivers great value, accurate estimates and work that was completed as promised. Angelo is a hard working, honest and a fair businessman who delivers exactly what is discussed with no surprises. Very happy with the money we spent and spending money should be fun! Thanks for the upgrade, we enjoy the new resurfaced and remodeled kitchen more than expected. Awesome job!"

Closets questions, answered by experts

Hanging and folding clothes are efficient ways to pack your clothes during a move. When choosing a packing method, consider the type of clothing you’re packing. For example, clothing such as dresses, suits, blouses, and items made of silk and similar fabrics are ideal for hangers. On the other hand, it’s easier to fold pants, shorts, t-shirts, thick sweaters, and more.

Plywood, MDF (medium-density fiberboard), and solid wood are all popular options for closet shelving. Plywood and solid wood are sturdy and ideal for extended shelves or heavy items. MDF is a budget-friendly choice for light to moderate storage, but it can sag under heavy weight if not adequately supported. Wire shelving is another alternative that allows airflow, making it especially useful in humid spaces such as laundry rooms or basements.

A foyer or entryway is typically a formal landing area for guests, located at the primary entrance of a home. It is often more formally decorated and connects directly to the main living space. In contrast, a mudroom is a more casual, utilitarian room, usually leading in from a secondary entrance like a garage or the side or rear of the house. It serves as a space for residents to remove shoes and outerwear to keep mud, dirt, and water out of the main home.

Yes, books are typically heavier than clothes, unless you have a collection exclusively of paperbacks or comic books. That’s why packing lots of books warrants careful planning and consideration. Consider packing up your reading collection first to determine whether you need to downsize it before loading it into your moving truck.

The time it takes to build a closet varies widely depending on the project's size, complexity, and level of customization. On average, construction can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

A simple reach-in closet might be completed in less than a day, while a more complex walk-in closet could take one to two days or more. A typical project often falls in the 2-to-5-day range. However, a large, highly customized walk-in closet that requires structural changes, like moving a load-bearing wall, will take significantly longer.

A professional contractor can provide the most accurate time estimate for your specific project. If you are planning a DIY build, it is best to budget additional time.
