"I got a very quick call back, the painters showed up when scheduled and did a superb job. They completed 4 rooms in 2 1/2 days, repaired the ceiling and walls and left the place spotless. Friendly and efficient. Thank you Matt and Gary!"

"I recently had my shingle roof replaced and I?m very happy with the results. The team was professional, punctual, and completed the job efficiently. The quality of the work is excellent, and the new roof looks great. They kept the work area clean and communicated well throughout the process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"IT was great! I have never had a problem working with this company. The people (from the customer service reps to the billing to the drivers) have all been honest and realistic with expectations, answered all of my questions and never charged me more than what is advertised on their website. Patricia and Victoria have gone out of their way to return my many phone calls on the weekends too. You just don't get customer service these days anymore like the bullbag provides. They came when they said they would, did what they said they would do and did it professionally and pleasantlly. It is a pleasure working with such an honest and reputable company. Especially since the dumpster industry has not been know for this! These guys are definitely setting the bar high for all their competition."

"We highly recommend Homestead Cabinets. Raymond is a consummate professional who has mastered his craft. Our refinished cabinets have been restored to their original beauty. Ray carried out his work in a timely and efficient manner. At the end of each work day he left our house clean and neat and apprised us of what was going to happen during the next work day. We have no reservations about recommending Ray and Homestead Cabinets."

Small jobs welcome

"First of all you will love how detailed Mark is about every project in your house. After careful evaluation he will give you an itemized spreadsheet with cost and time allotted. He replaced a large window, patched a plaster ceiling around a lighting/fan fixture, repaired a water damaged wall, patched an exterior plaster wall in this old old house, transformed a rotting window sill, painted up a narrow, steep staircase, created a clever piece to cover an interior wall access point, installed a wrought iron exterior handrail, chose and installed a light that illuminated a large clothes closet, completely replaced a whole house ceiling fan hole, covered and painted the space. He showed up when he said he would and completed the work on time. He is intelligent, creative and perfectionistic in his finishing detail. It has taken me years to have this work completed because of the experiences I have had with handyman tasks in the past. My neighbors saw what he had done, and several have asked for his contact information."

Closets questions, answered by experts

Whether it’s less expensive to build or buy a closet depends on both the type of closet and whether or not you’d be constructing it yourself. The cost of custom closets built by a pro ranges from $1,300 to $3,800, but you may be able to DIY it for as little as $400. By contrast, prefabricated options go as low as $200 and up to $3,000, so it’s almost always less expensive to go this route.

We use storage in nearly every room of the house, so it's no surprise that we lose track of things from time to time. The best way to organize storage is to declutter each year to cut down on auxiliary items that can be donated or tossed. Once you decide what's worth keeping, create an inventory list for all boxes you won't open for at least six months.

Yes, many providers offer design consultations to help optimize and maximize space, functionality, and usage. It is recommended to confirm the availability of this service with your specific installer or contractor.

When storing your clothes long-term, first consider the container's breathability. While plastic bags, cardboard boxes, or vacuum sealing may be great options for short-term storage, they won’t help your clothes hold up in the long term. Breathable plastic boxes and fabric bags help with airflow, prevent mold or mildew from building up, and allow proper airflow.

DIY is possible for basic designs. Professional services ensure proper construction and space optimization.
