"This is the second time Tom has been to the house to fix an appliance. From start to finish dealing with Action Appliance is great-they’ll continue to be my first call. Tom makes me feel comfortable about asking questions (which I’m sure is more annoying than he’d ever let on!) and is totally forthright when answering. Can’t recommend them enough."

Appliance Sales questions, answered by experts

No, you should not run two refrigerators on the same circuit as it is likely to overload the circuit and cause the breaker to trip or worse—cause an electrical fire. Each standard-size refrigerator should be on a dedicated 20-amp circuit. You should never plug a refrigerator into an extension cord or power strip as it can cause serious safety hazards. Refrigerators have built-in surge protection that safeguards them from the damage of power surges.

Maintenance includes regular filter cleaning, checking water connections, and ensuring that the unit operates at optimal efficiency without blockages.

One way to reduce the cost of a new appliance is to look for sales and buy on certain holidays, like Memorial Day weekend and Black Friday. If you don’t mind a blemish or two on the appliance, look for scratch-and-dent units, which are often available at a significant bargain.

On average, installing a DIY outdoor kitchen costs between $4,550 and $19,000, which is about $1,500 to $6,000 less than having one professionally installed. Many variables factor into the cost of installing an outdoor kitchen, such as the type of material, accessibility to the job site, and the potential costs of hiring a professional electrician or plumber, as well as any necessary permits.

While beautiful, stainless steel is notoriously thin and more vulnerable to denting than other finishes. One way to avoid the potential for denting is to purchase a high-end appliance made with thicker stainless steel.
