"As a Building & General Contractor myself Newgrange electric is one of my best electrical sub contractors. Eddie the owner is very hard working. Always reliable, extremely professional and maintains an office manager Nicole who knows what's going on, on all their projects so you always have someone to contact during business hours. Eddies crew is based of long time employees that are very knowledgeable in there work. Eddie will always get back to you even after business hours, which is not the norm for many vendors. We need more contractors like this. Joe Algeri, Orchard Builders & Construction & Skyline Plumbing & Heating."

"The experience I had with Antonio and his men were nothing but spectacular and world class… Antonio came personally to my home to scope out the project, suggested what I needed, and his men delivered they were professional. They were courteous. They cleaned up after themselves, and they were very cautious in respecting my home even to the point where they put drop cloths down on the floor because it was raining outside….. This ladies and gentlemen is how you want to be treated as a customer with the utmost respect, courtesy, fairness, and knowledge of the job!! thank you Antonio and the two gentlemen who came and did the electrical work from my house House you guys were amazing… if I ever need anything else from my home as far as electrical, you guys will be the first person I call.. I wish I could’ve gave them 10 stars… thanks fellas all the best.. Dino"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Norwalk, you can safely replace light switches or outlets if you shut off the breaker and use a voltage tester. Avoid working in damp areas, which are common after coastal storms. For any upgrades involving panels, rewiring, or generator installations, always contact a local professional familiar with Norwalk’s historic homes and strict permit requirements to ensure safety and code compliance.

Helpful?

Completing electrical projects in Norwalk offers immediate safety improvements, better storm readiness, and enhanced support for modern devices. Over time, these upgrades boost property value, improve energy efficiency, and may lower insurance premiums. With Norwalk’s rising demand for smart home features and electric vehicle charging, updated electrical systems make your home more attractive and resilient in the local real estate market.

Helpful?

In Norwalk, overloading outlets, using extension cords long-term, and ignoring flickering lights can damage your electrical system. Salt air and humidity near the Sound speed up corrosion if outdoor components aren’t protected. Delaying repairs after storms or using incorrect bulb wattages in older homes can also cause issues. Regular inspections and prompt attention to storm damage help keep Norwalk homes safe and reliable.

Helpful?

For electrical work in Norwalk, keep a non-contact voltage tester, multimeter, wire strippers, insulated screwdrivers, and a flashlight ready for power outages. Stock up on wire nuts, moisture-resistant tape, GFCI outlets, smoke detector batteries, and outdoor-rated extension cords. Weatherproof outlet covers and corrosion-resistant connectors are vital for coastal homes, while surge protectors and emergency lighting help maintain storm readiness.

Helpful?

In Norwalk, annual electrical panel checks are essential, especially in older neighborhoods like Rowayton where salt air can accelerate corrosion. Test GFCI outlets monthly, and replace smoke detector batteries every six months. Inspect outdoor fixtures for rust and moisture damage, and check cords for wear each season. Before hurricane season, ensure generator connections and emergency lighting are storm-ready for Norwalk’s unpredictable coastal weather.
