"I have found my forever electricians (at least while I live in the New Haven area)! From start to finish my experience with Power Forward was an absolute pleasure. Company owner, Ian, was responsive, punctual, and incredibly informative when it came to walking me through the details of the scope of work I was requesting, and was thoroughly transparent and fairly priced when it came to his estimate. Once we accepted the quote, scheduling with Morgan was easy and efficient, and Chris arrived onsite within a day of me accepting the estimate. Chris was a consummate professional, a super clean worker when it came to caring for our house and the cleanliness of his cable paths, and was truly dedicated to doing the job â the right wayâ not just the easy and cheap way. He took his time and planned his cable runs and circuiting carefully to ensure both minimal cutting into our walls and convenient receptacle placement. Once he was finished, he took care to clean every area heâ d worked in and probably left some of the rooms cleaner than when he arrived! I would recommend Ian and Power Forward to anyone who appreciates work that is done with care, safe, and efficient. I think you get what you pay for when it comes to hiring trade professionals, and electricity is not something you want to cut corners with: hire Ian and his team, and have it done right and safe the first time."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Trumbull’s climate brings frequent storms, power outages, and high humidity, all of which can strain electrical systems. Outdoor projects require weatherproof materials and proper sealing to prevent moisture damage. Surge protection is essential due to lightning risk, and many homeowners now install backup generators. Scheduling major electrical work for spring or fall helps avoid weather delays and ensures long-term system durability.

Helpful?

In Trumbull, it’s time to schedule electrical projects if you notice flickering lights, frequent breaker trips—especially when using air conditioners—or if your home still has original panels from the 1960s-80s. Outdated two-prong outlets, missing GFCI protection, or any burning odors are warning signs. Plan larger projects during spring or fall, and always factor in local permit processing times.

Helpful?

Upgrading your electrical system in Trumbull can greatly enhance your home’s value and appeal to buyers. Modern panels, whole-home surge protection, and smart home upgrades are especially attractive in the local market. These improvements also help meet insurance requirements and support remote work needs, making your property stand out and reducing potential delays during real estate transactions.

Helpful?

In Trumbull, older homes often need attention to electrical panels, basement wiring, and outdoor outlets, especially after harsh winters or storms. Kitchens may require new circuits for modern appliances, while HVAC wiring can be stressed by seasonal temperature swings. Regularly checking attic and garage wiring for wear helps prevent issues, and local contractors recommend annual inspections to keep your system safe.

Helpful?

The success of electrical work in Trumbull depends on following Connecticut’s electrical codes, using weather-resistant materials for humid summers, and ensuring proper grounding for the region’s clay soil. Installing whole-house surge protection is crucial due to frequent storms. Regular inspections, especially after severe weather, and choosing copper wiring help maintain a safe, reliable system for years to come.
