"I spoke with Alvin at about 9 AM on a Wednesday and he had a team at my house the same day. I had three plumbing issues and Eric and Bryan were able to fix them in about two hours. They gave me an estimate before they began work and that is what I ultimately paid. The team was efficient and courteous, and I was pleased with both the work and the fact they were able to come in a short time. I thought the charge was reasonable and competitive. Based on this work I highly recommend Alvin’s Plumbing and Heating/AC."

We joined Angie's List in August of 2007 and have earned their Super Service Award every year since 2009 when they started that program. HARP Home Services, LLC is here to take care of all your heating and air conditioning needs. Whether you are looking for a free quote on a new central air conditioning system or are ready to install radiant floor heating or a new boiler for those chilly winter months, we're just a phone call (or e-mail) away. Residential & Commercial.

"We had a furnace installed by Harp on July 8th 2024 after it being diagnosed by their technician as to the reason our ac system was not functioning properly. That’s when our troubles with Harp began. The installation was not done properly, we needed 3 service calls to get the ac to work properly. The installers were sloppy. We cleaned up screws and wire and parts from the old furnace for weeks. When heating season began we noticed that the humidifier installed with the furnace was not operating. We scheduled an appointment to have it repaired and they called the day of the appointment and told us they couldn’t come that day and we had to reschedule, so reluctantly we did. They finally came and repaired it. From what the technician told me it was not wired properly. On January 21st 2025( the coldest night of the year) the furnace stopped working. We called Harp to get someone to come to repair it as we had no heat in below 0º weather I was told the best they could do is to come the next day between 2 and 6 pm. I tried to explain that this was an emergency but to no avail. I called my local oil company and they were at my door within 30 minutes( which I would’ve expected from the company who sold us the furnace) the repaired it quickly and told us that one f the wires on the control panel was not attached properly. It cost me $300. I would NOT recommend Harp to anyone. They are not reliable and do not stand behind their promises of service 24/7. Stay as far away from this company as possible. We are sorry we ever started with them."

The area’s leading family-owned propane company, State Line Propane is hoping to earn your business. Learn what your neighbors already know! We are committed to giving customers the best possible service at an affordable price. We offer everything propane: no charge to switch, 24 hour emergency service, in-house HVAC technicians, service contracts, will-call, automatic deliveries, pre-buy, budget, free estimates, propane equipment and of course the best delivery services in the business.

"We started service with State Line a few months ago when we purchased our home. Unfortunately everything is run off propane in my neighborhood, so we decided to stay with State Line since they were the provider for the previous owner. For the 1st few months in terms of scheduling and delivery of fuel we hadn't had any issues. Our issues are with the poor level of customer service they provide in response to customer issues. Our last fuel delivery was a complete disaster. State Line recently a week ago as of today. while at work I received a call from a family member indicating that the propane delivery truck left a large sinkhole like crater in the middle of our driveway and the damage was so significant we are not able to get into our garage because the asphalt is raise to the point where we are not able to drive over it. I contacted State Line and was transferred to John. John was fully aware of the damage, in fact, he was looking at photos taken by the driver of the truck which caused the damage. John didn't seem too concerned that the damage occurred stating in the picture he could see where there were pre-existing cracks in the driveway which was besides the point because the driveway was fine prop to the fuel delivery. Regardless, extensive damage was caused by their delivery truck and we expect the section of driveway damaged to be taken care of immediately or at the very lease temporally patched to the make the area drive-able. until they can schedule a permanent repair within a reasonable amount of time. 2 days pass and nothing. I called several times over a 2 days period leaving messages and nothing. I finally received a text message not a personal phone call from John claiming they would send a contractor to our home within a few days. Today is day 3 and nothing. I attempted to call and again was sent to John's voicemail. The photos John received from his employee clearly indicated the significance of this damage. As a result we have no choice but to drive partially in the wet grass causing even more damage to the front yard. I work for a large gas utility company and if one of our vehicles caused this type off damage it would have been addressed immediately, if nothing more than a temporary fix until the permanent repairs could be performed. I cannot fill in the damage because I want the owner and contractor to see the actual damage not photos. This is very poor customer service on their part and the lack of empathy and attention given to the situation is unacceptable I plan to pursue this matter even further. Very poor business ethics!"

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

Here are some signs of a bad well pump that a pro should look at:

  • If your well pump isn’t pumping water, you could have a leak or malfunctioning pump on your hands.

  • If your water pump runs nonstop, there might be a leak or problem with the pressure tank, which can cause the pump to fail.

  • Low water pressure can happen because of your pressure tank, low-water levels, or a wrong-sized pump.

  • Dirt or sediment in your water can be a problem with a powerful pump, damaged pump filter, or the pump’s location.

Frozen well pipes make themselves known quickly, as your faucets slow down to a trickle or shut down completely. If you notice a serious reduction in flow in the winter from toilets, showers, kitchen faucets, and other plumbing fixtures, a frozen pipe or two is to blame. Another tell-tale sign is frost or ice on exposed pipes outside.

There are several common causes of low water pressure in your sprinkler system, including clogged sprinkler heads and issues with your backflow preventer valve. Start by inspecting and cleaning your sprinkler heads to ensure they’re in working order and there aren’t any blockages. Then, check your backflow preventer valve to ensure it’s open. If you spot damage to it, hire a sprinkler pro to repair or replace it.

If your well pump gets stuck in its casing, you may be able to free it loose by gently wiggling the line or by vibrations from tapping the line with a hammer. However, if your pump is stuck in a buildup of minerals around the casing, you’ll probably have to call in a well pump contractor to get it out. They’ll likely use a muriatic acid solution—a strong, corrosive acid—to break down the minerals and free the pump loose.

To avoid a stuck pump in the future, experts recommend a professional well cleaning once every 10 years.

Pressure tanks can last anywhere from five to 15 years, but the life span of your tank depends on a few factors. Lower-quality tanks tend to wear out more quickly than high-end options, and the quality of water and the amount of sediment or rocks from your well can cause premature damage. Overworking an undersized pressure tank can also limit its life span.
