"I had an excellent experience with this HVAC company. Their team was highly professional, knowledgeable, and focused from start to finish. They took the time to explain everything clearly, completed the work efficiently, and demonstrated great attention to detail. It’s refreshing to work with a company that values quality, expertise, and customer service. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable HVAC professionals."

"Absolute 1st Choice will absolutely be our 1st choice. He deserves more than 5 Stars. He found problems that were more serious than the one we hired him to fix. He explained what needed to be done and offered to do it. He made no attempt to "upsell' us on anything. He stayed until the project was completed to our satisfaction. He was well organized, professional and trustworthy. Trustworthiness is the most important thing, without that I might as well have tried to fix it myself. I know that wouldn't have ended well. If you hire a company with a fleet of fancy trucks and prime time TV ads, you can be fairly sure that the service tech will , at some point, magically transform into a a salesman. Thank you, Home Advisor!!!"

"New Era HVAC was amazing! I own a small business that has a very challenging environment to work around. Jared was extremely professional and minimized the disruption to our routine. We have large warehouse heaters. A few years ago we had one installed by another company. They left a huge mess, took 2 1/2 days to do the work and had no regard for disrupting our business. In contrast, when Jared replaced the second one he was done in one day, left the area clean and neat when he left, and was extremely accommodating with us. We have also had a tankless water heater replaced by New Era and had the same experience. Professional, honest, and reliable - you will not find a better company out there!!"

"Tony was very easy to work with and accommodating. I had narrowed my choice to 3 firms. Elevation was not the cheapest nor the most expensive but I felt most comfortable with Tony and believe he offered the most value. My air conditioner was installed today, I hope this will be the start of a great (and cool) relationship."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

For the most part, you should leave your AC fan in “auto” mode so that it only runs during a heating or cooling cycle. Keeping it in this position uses less energy, which equals lower utility bills. However, there are some situations where it’s better to leave your AC fan on, including if you have allergies or there are lots of people in your home.

No, it’s not normal for AC vents to drip condensation. A sweating AC vent is a sign of something wrong and can lead to issues like air duct rust or mold growth. Your HVAC unit might not be working efficiently because of a dirty filter or clogged ducts. Alternatively, your ductwork might not have adequate insulation, which allows the cool air in the ducts to meet the humid air outside, causing condensation.

To make the most out of your AC, consider implementing the following best practices:

  • Choose the right size AC for your home to ensure your unit runs as efficiently as possible.

  • Choose a window with shade, as direct sunlight can cause your AC unit to overheat.

  • Clean or replace the filter at least every two months.

  • Inspect the AC’s fan and straighten it if necessary.

  • Discontinue use immediately if you suspect a malfunction, as running the AC while broken can lead to significant issues.

  • Turn off (or adjust the temperature) when you leave the house.

No, you should not run an air conditioner with a Freon leak. If you think your AC unit is leaking refrigerant, shut it off immediately. When you keep using a leaky air conditioner, it could damage the unit and release more refrigerant. After turning off the AC, have an HVAC pro come take a look at the unit.

There are two main reasons your furnace and AC are turning on at the same time. The first could be that you’re confusing the furnace with the blower. The blower is located in the furnace and will turn on to distribute cool air from the air conditioner through the ductwork in the home. This is normal. If the actual furnace is turning on at the same time as the AC and hot and cool air are coming into the home, it could be a result of incorrect writing to a new thermostat or new systems.
