"I recently had the pleasure of working with Carlos and Oscar at PSI Flooring again, a small, locally owned top-notch hardwood refinishing company. They truly exceeded my expectations! From start to finish, they demonstrated a level of professionalism and attention to detail that was exemplary. They went above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied with their services of extending our hardwood to a carpeted area and refinishing the entire main level to match. Their expertise, craftsmanship, and customer service were all outstanding. Their commitment to quality and excellence shines through in everything they do. I would highly recommend them for any hardwood refinishing project! Thank you Carlos and Oscar!"

"Rob Engerman was very professional. He cleaned all three of our area rugs here at the house. They are beautiful now. He arrived on time and went straight to work. He even called the next day to see if there were any problems. I would recommend him to friends and family. Give him a try and you will be glad you did."

"I had a refrigerator leak onto and underneath my floors and didn’t notice until the floorboards started lifting. Shames and I were connected through Angie’s list, I loved his attitude for making sure I’d be taken care of - with a focus on doing it right. He was able to come over the day after we spoke, cleared out the old boards that were wet, saved my subfloor and replaced the floor boards across my entire kitchen. Shames is easy to work with, responsive and a good guy with honest recommendations and price. We might even play a few rounds of golf together soon. I’d recommend him for any of your in home flooring projects. You’re going to get a good guy and team."

"Very happy with the service I received today! A little less than 4 hours (multiple people equate to "up to 8 hours") and my main floor and second story were spruced right up! Advice for others, be sure to clear surfaces and pick up prior to your cleaning so you leave enough time for dusting, wiping down appliances, and sweeping and mopping. Will DEFINATELY hire again!!"

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Most DIY floor cleaners don’t require rinsing, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t add too much dish soap or oil to the cleaner to avoid having to rinse it after cleaning. For non-wood floors, mix 8 parts warm water, 1 part vinegar, and 1 part baking soda with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, use olive oil in that same mixture instead of the vinegar. You can let these solutions air-dry after cleaning your floors with them, although you should manually dry your floors if they aren’t waterproof.

You can embrace minimalism when it comes to cleaning vinyl plank flooring. Water or diluted vinegar both work great for mopping and are much better options than some other cleaners that can damage the protective coating on these floors. Ammonia or solvent-based polishes can both break down the top layer. Also, avoid “mop-and-shine” cleaners, which tend to leave behind residue on vinyl plank floors.

Baking soda is an excellent choice for a natural dog urine neutralizer. You can sprinkle it on a stain, leave it overnight, and then vacuum it in the morning to help rid your hardwoods of the dog urine smell. Hydrogen peroxide is another odor neutralizer, but be careful not to mix it with other household cleaners.

A floor polisher won’t remove scratches from a wood floor, but the polish can fill in surface scratches and make them all but invisible. If you run your fingernail gently over the scratch and it doesn’t catch, chances are that the polish will hide it. If it does catch, you might want to have your floors fully refinished, and you might need to have a professional floor sander in for particularly deep scratches. When in doubt, call a professional floor polisher to determine if polish will fill in your scratches or if you need more in-depth services.

Yes, you can polish an existing concrete floor—as long as the slab is structurally sound and in good shape. In fact, that’s what makes this type of flooring upgrade so appealing. Polishing works best on bare concrete with minimal surface damage, although you can usually repair cracks and stains before the grinding and buffing begins. Instead of ripping out your existing concrete floor, polishing it can turn it into a high-shine showpiece that’s both practical and sleek.
