"Henry and his team did an amazing job re-landscaping my side front yard. They removed worn-out sod and put in a mix of rock, mulch, large stones and drought-resistant perennials in it's place. They came when they said they would, did a wonderfully professional job, cleaned up when they were finished . . . all in less than a day!"

Customers say: Quality work

"No job is too small. Instead of requiring a minimum dollar amount Cruz quoted me a fair price for my 130sqft yard. My yard is beautiful now! They installed artificial grass/turf and put my pergola together! I would recommend this family business to anyone doing landscaping."

""I've worked with the team at Design Exteriors for five years and have been extremely happy with their design expertise and quality craftsmanship. They transformed my sloping backyard by contouring the landscape and adding concrete walkways and steps to seamlessly access a beautiful new fire pit, hot tub, and pool area. Cedric has been exceptionally positive and patient, accommodating my occasional design changes with professionalism. I highly recommend Design Exteriors!""

Restaurants WISH they could be this awesome.
When we saw this gorgeous tree, we knew we had to plan for it in the design. We took it into account when we designed the roof of the pavilion and even thought it through when we poured the concrete for the patios.
Tough day at work? Come home to this.

"We hired them to trim trees in the front and back and to remove a pine tree in our front yard that was killing our grass. They were professional, quick and cleaned up every last piece. Our yard looked brand new when they finished!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

A scattering of leaves won’t pose a problem through the winter, but a thicker layer of leaves may not decompose before the first frost and can instead weigh down your grass and harbor mold or fungi. A thick layer of leaves also cuts off light and air that grass needs to grow. That’s why we suggest removing thick leaf layers within several days if possible. If your lawn goes dormant over the winter and snow has already caught up with you, then remove the leaves in early spring before your grass-growing season starts so your lawn can thrive.

It is for the purpose of protecting them from hail because you’ll be removing it soon after the threat is over. However, plastic or vinyl tarps aren’t recommended as a long-term way of protecting your plants from frost because they’ll trap too much moisture inside, which is actually not a good thing for your plants. But in the short term, it’s fine to use even an overturned garbage can to protect a plant from hail.

A green home is one that focuses on conservation, with the goal often being net-zero carbon emissions and self-sustainability. It will often include some kind of self-generation equipment, like solar panels or a small wind turbine, high-efficiency electrical components and mechanicals, and high-quality insulation and air sealing to reduce the loss of conditioned air. Many green homes also include xeriscaping or rainwater collection to cut down on drainage and water consumption.

If you are xeriscaping a lawn from scratch, your best bet for preparing the lawn is to work with a xeriscaping specialist in your area. The most common first step to making the transformation, however, will be to remove the turfgrass from your lawn. The subsequent steps will often include amending the soil to support new plants and installing low-drip or drip irrigation systems.

While there are over 400,000 different flowering plants worldwide, there are five main types of flowers. These flower types are based on their lifecycles, giving each type a unique personality. These types are:

  • Annuals, which complete their entire life cycle within a single growing season.

  • Perennials, which the tops die off in the winter but regrow in spring.

  • Biennials, which complete their entire life cycle within two years.

  • Hybrids, which exhibit either annual or perennial behaviors depending on location

  • Flowering shrubs, which are small to medium-sized perennial woody plants, such as shrubs or evergreens.
