"Devin Dotson, the owner, spent the day at my home installing a new 200 amp electrical panel. I was very impressed with the quality of his work. He did a great job. He was thorough, marked every new fuse and labeled what each one was connected to. Then he tested everything in the house to ensure it was working properly. I couldn't be happier with Current Electric and highly recommend them."

"We requested a quote for electrical outlet work on Sunday and received a response via email by Cory on Sunday evening. Scheduled them to come out Monday morning and Chris came out on time and got our dryer up and running within 15 minutes. We had just moved to this home over the weekend and Ultra saved us and they were very reasonable in pricing. We highly recommend this company to perform all your electrical needs."

"Sebastian is the best, he came out for a quote, very punctual, professional and asked us alot of questions about what we needed/wanted, he's very knowledgeable so gave us options. He came back with his helper and they installed a new electrical panel & a sub-panel that we requested. Only took one day, great communication, professional, best quote we got at $ 6000.00 Would definitely recommend."

"I'm so glad we went with JM Electric to replace/upgrade our electrical panel. They were fast, efficient, professional, courteous, and above all gave great advice. They even installed my husband's new garage heater after installing the designated electrical wire for it. I have no clue as to what or where the wires go beyond the outlets themselves. I just mentioned what we needed, Josh and Zach explained everything prior and handled everything on installation day. Definitely will be hiring them again if we ever need more electrical work. Thanks again JM Electric! (Josh and Zach)"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For electrical projects in Denver, use copper wiring for reliability in temperature swings, and opt for tamper-resistant, weather-rated outlets to handle local climate changes. Ground-fault and arc-fault protection devices are essential, especially in kitchens and basements. EMT conduit is ideal for exposed areas, while PVC works well underground. Sourcing materials from Denver suppliers helps ensure compliance with local codes and consistent performance.

Helpful?

Hidden costs in Denver electrical projects can include permit and inspection fees, unexpected panel upgrades, or rewiring if old aluminum or knob-and-tube wiring is discovered. Asbestos or lead remediation may be necessary in older homes. Limited access in basements or attics can increase labor time, and coordinating with utility providers or weather delays may also impact your project’s timeline, so plan for some flexibility.

Helpful?

In Denver, be cautious of quotes that skip mention of required permits or don’t detail the scope of electrical work, such as rewiring or panel upgrades. Watch for vague estimates, lack of insurance proof, or contractors unwilling to provide local references. Unusually low prices, cash-only requests, or pressure for fast decisions are warning signs. Ensure all quotes clearly outline materials, labor, and safety measures.

Helpful?

When hiring electrical pros in Denver, seek those experienced with the city’s common issues like outdated knob-and-tube wiring or older breaker panels. Confirm they’re insured and can show references from Denver neighborhoods. Make sure they understand local permit requirements and inspection processes. It’s also wise to choose professionals who are responsive and familiar with challenges posed by Denver’s variable weather and older housing stock.

Helpful?

Combining electrical work with other upgrades in Denver is especially beneficial if your home has older wiring or you’re planning a basement finish, kitchen remodel, or breaker panel replacement. Coordinating projects can minimize wall openings, reduce labor overlap, and streamline inspections. This approach also helps ensure all upgrades meet Denver’s code requirements, making your renovation process smoother and helping you avoid unnecessary delays.
