"I have a lifetime warranty through American windows and I have reached out to Kyle 6 times now and had zero response in two weeks. They use to have great customer service. But when I need to warranty a window that won?t open or close they go silent. When I call the office staff says she can?t find my purchase. She said this before and Kyle has always found it. Problem when I call they say he will call back he is in the field. But he does not return calls or emails."

"Summary: They charged me $9,000 for a shelving system. Several years later, the system is defective and not usable through faulty installation and/or materials. They want to charge me hundreds of dollars to fix their shoddy work, despite claiming to have a lifetime warranty. In 2014, I paid $9,000 for some built in shelves. For the first time ever, I tried moving one of the shelves they installed. It was almost impossible to get out (I literally broke out in a sweat doing it), and it was impossible to reinstall. I measured it and saw that the space at the bottom of the shelf was 3/16" wider than in the middle/top (where the shelf was supposed to go). No problem because these guys have a lifetime warranty, right? Wrong. I contacted the service department and asked to get this taken care of. They say, "Sure...we'll be there next week. Send a picture of what's going on so we have a better idea." I sent the picture and then was told that I have to pay $115 for their time and gas...JUST FOR A CONSULTATION. Then I have to pay $115 for the first hour of actual work and $75/hour for each additional hour. That's not a lifetime warranty...it's a way to bilk you out of money every few years. Call me crazy, but when I pay $9,000 for a couple pieces of wood, and that purchase comes with a lifetime warranty, I'd expect that it last longer than a two-term president...and if something went wrong through no fault of my own, they would fix the issue without asking me for hundreds of dollars. They either installed this improperly or are using inferior products because I've never had any other shelf move like that by itself. So now I have the amazing choice of either paying even more money to this company for these shelves or rendering a good chunk of this unit useless. Unless you like paying the cost of a used car for a few shelving units and then having to pay hundreds of dollars every few years to continue using these shelves, save yourself the money and headache. They're not worth it."

Enriques Tile is a family-run business, offering tile and natural stone products for immediate installation, sales and delivery, as well as in-house design services and complete custom capabilities. No matter how intricate the designs or how rare the materials, we offer assistance in every aspect of the specification process from concept to completion. Living: entryway, hallway, basement floor, fireplace Exterior: patio, balcony, building facade Custom shower stall construction (walk-in, round, glass block), drywall installation, waterproofing, rounded edges on natural stone, sealing, silicon, and electro-heating mat installation (no connection).

"We had a fantastic experience with Enrique's Tile. As part of a larger house renovation, Roberto and his brother Juan tiled the floors, walls and shower pans of our 3 bathrooms, the kitchen floor, the laundry floor and a floor-to-ceiling fireplace surround (32x71 tile pieces). They worked fast but were also very meticulous. They also have a great eye for design. Without me even asking, they arranged each tile piece as it made most sense given lines and patterns. And the fireplace wall almost looks like a single piece of slab! Their suggestions for grout colors on each area were also spot-on. We were thrilled with the overall final look. A great experience and would be happy to work with them in another future project."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Yes, professionals can install decorative or colored glass block patterns for a unique look.

Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.

Glass blocks are much thicker than glass panes in traditional windows and serve as better insulators. The overall glass block window is sealed against drafts that allow warm or cool air to escape, saving on energy costs. Since this type of window is sealed airtight into your home, you don’t have to worry about air leaks and drafts as often as traditional windows that open and close. When installing glass block windows, look for options that are Energy Star rated, proving their energy efficiency.

Their thickness depends on application, but most glass walls are typically 3/8 to 3/4 of an inch thick. Although it’s not as common, single panes of glass can also be 1 inch thick.

Glass walls are more expensive overall than their brick or drywall counterparts. However, if you need walls for a building with more than two or three stories, glass walls are the more budget-friendly option.
