"Erinn was my initial contact and he gave a very through and fair estimate. We had structural work done to support floor joists and large beams under the garage that needed replacing. Ernesto and his team, Julio, Salvatore and Gilder worked tirelessly to complete the work and were respectful, punctual, informative and good humoured throughout the entire process. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. A really great company!!"

"2 words.... Smooth ride. I can't express enough truly how great of an experience this was. I have good experiences with previous contractors but not like this one with Meir. I didn't feel pressured into making decisions, he was willing to work with me on the price (because I wanted everything high end), and I was constantly updated with the status of the project. I highly recommend working with this company and Meir. Thank you again for your outstanding work.

"I'm in the early stages of design/budgeting remodels for my kitchen and three bathrooms. I worked with Mike to provide an early estimate, and he was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He was super patient and a great resource to me while exploring all options and cost-saving possibilities. Highly recommend!"

"I am in love with my home renovations. Real Construction was amazing to
work with. They were reliable, honest, hard working and even got the
projects done in time! They made sure to not inconvenience us at all in
the process, always asking what worked with our schedule when closing an
area of the house off for work. They did a beautiful job installing
hardwood floors, recessed lighting, crown molding, giving my bathroom a
complete makeover with beautiful tiling and finishes. My kitchen also
looks amazing with the beautiful granite countertops and backsplash. I
would recommend Real Construction 100 times over to any of my friends
and family.

"We have used this contractor since 1999.  Previously he added about 1200 sf new space.  Later he remodeled the guest house.  At a commercial property he did a large concrete and asphalt job and created pits for machinery installation, etc. We always found him trustworthy.  He showed up to the Job site on time everyday.  He cleaned up the job site and kept it organized.  Never feared that he will run away in the middle of the job.  Like any customer, we were picky and pointed things to him.  He was reasonable in accommodating us as we were reasonable in realizing if something we wanted was outside the scope or original understanding.

Bottom line we deal with him simply because we trust him.  He has a professional engineering degree and contractors license.  He understands the building code and structural integrity of the building.  We live in earthquake area, and need to be assured that the work is done by a professional with structural engineering knowledge and experience no matter how small a job it may be.."

"Construction is hard.  Anthony at FioreBuilt works hard to make the process as easy as possible on his clients.  I had the pleasure of working with Anthony on a full exterior remodel of my Mom's house.  Being that she is handicapped it was very important that the work be completed professionally, quickly, within a strict budget, and with people I could trust.  I found all that and more in Anthony.  He and his crew are very professional.  They arrive on time, work quickly, have great attention to detail, and are incredibly clean.  Plus his entire crew treated my mother with great respect and care throughout the project.  We ended up doing more work than planned because it was going so well.  It is also important to note that Anthony builds smart.  He was full of various ideas whenever a creative solution was needed and was generous with his time in explaining the pros and cons of each.  He understood our underlining goal of improving my mother's quality of life while keeping her finances under control.  Even within her limited budget he never cut corners with building materials, construction or aesthetics.  He devised numerous ways to make sure we got what we wanted while keeping us within our means.  Construction is a moving target.  Things change once you start the process.  We were very fortunate to have Anthony on our side during this project.  We wouldn't have gotten these fantastic results without him."
FioreBuilt Construction is owned and operated by Anthony Vito Fiore. Anthony is a descendant of the Fiore family, well known in Chicago’s northern shoreline for construction and landscaping. After serving four years in the United States Navy, Anthony Fiore attended the University of Illinois where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology & a minor in chemistry. After deciding that Medical School was not for him, he went back to his family roots and became a Contractor, his passion.

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

Water can seep into porous materials like wood beams, floor joists, and roof rafters within minutes, but they’ll need to see prolonged exposure before you have structural damage. Mold can start growing within 24 hours, and mold can eat away at the structural components over time. Wood rot is more of a concern, though. Wet and dry rot are fungal infections that set in in moist conditions and rapidly deteriorate wood, causing major structural damage within just a few months in some cases.

Structural engineers specialize in all aspects of a building’s structural integrity, including the foundation. Foundation engineering is a critical part of structural engineering, so structural engineers are experts in foundation design. Many foundation repair companies either have a structural engineer on staff or one they work closely with, so be sure you look for that when deciding who to hire for foundation repair.

If your home's foundation was damaged due to shifting soil, the same problem will reoccur unless you stabilize the structure by adding posts in the bedrock.

Indications include cracks in walls, uneven floors, and sticking doors or windows that suggest foundation movements.

Yes, an LVL beam is more affordable than the cost of a steel I-beam, totaling between $50 and $200 per linear foot as opposed to the $100 to $400 per linear foot you’d pay for a steel I-beam. Not only is the wood material more affordable than steel, but it’s also more similar to traditional wooden beams and doesn’t require as much retrofitting to connect joists.
