"We were a bit hesitant at first in hiring them for the work, in spite of their lower cost quote compared to other companies we got quotes from, because of their as yet unlicensed status, and a relatively new company with less track records, ieven though they had received string customer reviews.. Their project lead, Felipe Sanchez, was extremely professional, carefully discussing all our options, then explaining what they were doing at each step of their work. The proposed trenchlrss sewage line replacement approach was supposed to be the simplest and most efficient approach, ideally minimizing much of the digging required to get to the original line. But after replacing the line, the roots of a courtyard tree where the original line ran through was compressing the new line also, causing sagging in a portion of line, resulting in water gathering, a key cause of past problems of occasional backups. His team did a lot of extra digging work to get to that section of line affected by the roots in the ground, cleared off the obstructing roots, and properly regrading that section of line to correct the standing water problem. This was considerably more extra work on their part, but Felipe insisted they would make sure the job was done correctly, It took a few extra days of hard work on their part to get all the potential issues corrected to the City inspectorâ s satisfaction., ensuring final inspection approval. He kept us fully inform d of their progress and issues as they were working through them with the Cory inspector. . We appreciated their truly professional commitment to getting their job done right, even when the problem ended up costing them extra time and effort. I would recommend them to others who may be looking at repairing their sewage line, often an unpleasant but necessary project for older houses."

"We discovered a clog on Christmas day in an upstairs bathroom that prevented us from using the bathtub or toilet in both bathrooms! My wife asked meto find a plumber so i checked Home Advisor and found a company called American Pipe Bursting. which had a lot of positive feedback. I talked to Austin, the owner, the next morning and he said he could be out in an hour or so, and he was right on time. Along with his brother Tyler, he immediately got to work and within an hour or so they had resolved our problem. What a relief! They were efficient, affordable, prompt - with a very straightforward and likable manner. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a plumbing repair. It was gratifying to know that we could rely on them to get the job done properly, and we will have no reservations about calling them again when necessary. Thanks guys, You made our day."

"They did a number of things. Braced and restrapped water heater and ran copper line for pressure relief to outside. Unclogged master toilet and reseated. Bolted down second toilet. Reconnected clothes dryer vent. Repaired air gap/garbage disposal and drain line under kitchen sink, crawled under house and remove galvanized pipe straps and replaced with nylon pipe clamps. I was a contractor and used to do this work, o an very critical. They did an outstanding job. Went the extra mile several times. I was expecting a bill for a higher amount but they stuck with their estimate. I recommend them highly and would use them again!!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

You can pour bleach down the toilet as long as you dilute it since undiluted bleach can damage your toilet bowl. If you choose to use bleach to remove stains from your toilet, mix every cup of bleach with a gallon of water. You should also follow safety precautions when using bleach, like working in a well-ventilated area, wearing gloves, and never mixing it with any other cleaner.

Installation costs range from $150 to $400, depending on toilet type and labor.

The cost to install a new toilet typically runs from $225 to $530. This doesn’t include the price of the toilet itself, which can cost $90 to $1,500 depending on the model and features you choose. You can save money if you choose to install a toilet yourself. However, you might want to hire a pro for this project.

"Due to the many complexities of replacing a toilet flange, it is typically a job best left to the pros," says Jeff Botelho, Angi Expert Review Board member and plumber. "Many times it isn't as simple and straightforward as 'pop off the old one and pop on a new one' because the flange is either glued on (PVC/ABS), soldered on (brass/copper), or caulked in place with a lead & oakum joint (cast iron) and none of these things can be easily reversed without years of training and repetitive practice."

Yes, you can have a toilet without a septic tank. However, it will have to be a composting toilet. Composting toilets work similarly to aerobic septic systems in that the waste, which sits in a separate compartment below the toilet itself, is slowly broken down by aerobic bacteria. These toilets typically have a vent to get rid of harmful gasses with a fan, which requires a battery. You will have to dispose of waste in the toilet manually every three weeks to every three months, depending on how many people are using the toilet.

While the toilet bowl and toilet tank require haul away to your curb, landfill, or recycling center, you can dispose of your old, used toilet seat in your regular garbage collection. If your toilet seat is plastic or duroplast, you can even recycle it instead at a local recycling facility.
