We've been thrilled with the final product and the experience of signing with Ouri from day one was a pleasure. This was our first large project and we would undoubtedly hire Ouri again. Project We instinctively knew Ouri was the best fit for us after the on-site consultation. Not only are his reviews overwhelmingly positive, but he's knowledgeable, respectful, patient, and honest, with competitive pricing to boot. He's also a very responsive communicator. We needed some time after signing the contract to shop for materials. Ouri kindly rolled with our uncertain timeline, checking in periodically without any pressure to see where we were at and advising on any questions we had along the way. From the beginning of the project, his crew was respectful, clean, and always checked in with us as any questions came up. The project went smoothly and for one very minor hiccup that came up, Ouri & crew were quick to address without question. And months later, he sent a member of his crew to come troubleshoot something minor, again without any hesitation. It's challenging to keep these brief when you have such a great experience, especially when you read and hear about horror stories from other people. Selfishly, maybe we should keep this to ourselves so he isn't so busy when we need him for another project in the future :) Scope The bathroom was totally gutted save for some sections of drywall. A full tiled shower with a bench was installed (replacing a tiny old corner unit!), along with added lighting & exhaust fan, new floor tile, and all new fixtures/ cabinets/ paint. The plumbing and the shower drain were relocated. An old window was removed and replaced by a new one on an adjacent wall."

"I've used Valley Carpet One for several projects now including new wood flooring, wood floor refinishing and tile work and they have extremely professional and reliable. It has become increasingly harder to find good service and good products for a fair price post-COVID and Tyler and his team have been great to work with every time and I feel the pricing is fair. From the very first consultation, Thai (our project manager) was attentive, asked smart questions, and helped us shape the vision we had in mind—even better than we imagined. The team was quick, efficient, and always professional. What really impressed us was the communication. I always knew what was happening and when, and Thai checked in frequently to make sure we were happy with every stage of the project. The custom cabinets are stunning and the tile backsplash came out better than the Pinterest photo I had saved. "I had a kitchen floor with 20 year old linoleum that had water damage on it. When the flooring was replaced after the leak, the wood subfloor beneath it was not repaired, and so it rotted away. It had become so soft I actually was able to push my finger through it at one point and make a hole through the linoleum on the floor and the wood below. I explained this to Juan who came to give me an estimate and he said it would be no problem to repair the floor. I also wanted to replace the old white linoleum with woodgrain vinyl plank flooring. He showed me some samples and we landed on one that I liked. He quoted me a very decent price for the kitchen, and later I decided to do the bathroom as well, so it would match the kitchen. The day of the installation, his crew arrived within five minutes of the time quoted. They were friendly fast and knowledgeable as they replaced the rotted wood and fixed some squeaks that were in the joists. They were careful and accurate in laying the new plank flooring in both the kitchen and the bathroom. After the job was done, I looked at it and I couldn’t be happier with the result. It makes the house look new again! Thanks again to Juan and his team of installers! I would highly recommend them to anyone."

"We had water damage to our entranceway which required replacement of the oak flooring. This flooring is repeated throughout most of the ground floor and the rest of it is of uncertain age but suspected to be approximately 60 years old since the original house was built. We have lived in the house for over 20 years and it was here when we moved in. As there were several areas that needed partial repair in the older rooms, we decided to have those areas repaired at the same time. Then we added a full sand and refinish everywhere, except one room which was just too difficult to empty and had been refinished a different shade. This meant staining the repair in that room to match the existing finish. The match was impossible to identify. We then decided to have the living room carpet removed and replaced with matching oak hardwood. This living room was not part of the original house, so not built with hardwood flooring and we decided to make the whole ground floor hardwood. All these activities meant moving furniture several times to make access possible. Especially as we delayed stages to accommodate painters in the finished rooms before moving furniture into those rooms to access the next areas. Jaymes team, led by Sam and his brother Nelson, did a great job with new installation and patching repairs in the older areas as needed. These guys were amazing. Very enthusiastic and willing to explain certain actions and offer suggestions to our queries. We mentioned squeaks in the floor in the older part of the house and they immediately asked to go under the floor to inspect, then wedged several areas of the subfloor to deal with the squeaks. An entirely voluntary action on their part. They also did a great cleanup job every day before leaving. We were happy to have them in our home."

"Joaquin is an expert in his practice. We have used him for two jobs- kitchen tile and also fireplace remodeling. He is very detail oriented. We had a lot of discussion prior to ordering tile and prior to instal. It was obvious he wanted us to be happy with the end result. He was very knowledgeable. He showed up on time, Project was completed within projected time frame and price was unchanged from the quote. We found his prices to be very reasonable. We definitely will use JV Tile again."

"I worked with David from So Cal Builders and Design on a bathroom and bedroom addition to my home. We had been through a few renovation projects before so expectations were low, but I can honestly say this is the BEST experience I have ever had with a contractor. If you need work done hire David and his team! David helped navigate the whole process for us from drawing up the plans, through the entire build, and final inspection. As with any renovation project some issues arose along the way, but David's attitude was always "it's okay, we will take care of it"! He was super transparent with everything going on, and was very responsive when I had questions. He also helped me with some design ideas that I absolutely LOVE! The end result is honestly better than I could have fully envisioned, and I truly believe it wouldn't have been possible without David and his team. "I DO NOT recommend Jaime o’Linn or Style in Tile for these reasons: 1. When tiling a wet area like a tub/shower they do not use the proper waterproof paper for the job. They use exterior stucco paper/lathe instead of waterproof paper made for tiling. I found this out because I hired Style in Tile to tile my tub surround in my hall bathroom. They started the job and got to the point where they installed the waterproof paper, lathe, and started applying the cement but at that point I got into a disagreement with one of the tile worker. I asked him to cover up my bathroom’s wall cabinet with plastic or paper so it wouldn’t get any cement on it. The worker said no he wouldn’t do it because ‘he wasn’t working in that area’. Also this same worker had used subpar wood to build up my wall in order to install the lathe paper. He dismantled the large box that my tile supplier shipped my tiles in. this ‘wood’ is very weak. It’s one step up from cardboard and made just for shipping items, not for a construction project. You cannot buy this kind of wood at home depot. It’s like .75 inch thick plywood with airgaps between the layers of wood. It is not solid wood. This worker was too lazy to go to the home depot and get proper wood for the job. So I wasn’t happy with the quality of work and attitude of this installer so i contacted Jaime about these issues and told him I wanted a different crew for my job. He said ok but that I would need to pay for the 1 day of work his crew did and that it would take a few weeks before his other crew could start working on my job. I waited the few weeks and contacted Jaime to see when his ‘other crew’ would continue my job. He said there was delays at the other job which meant a few more weeks delays for my job. At this point I couldn’t wait any longer and contacted other tile companies to get quotes and complete my bathroom. When the other tile companies came and saw the type of lathe paper used on my bathroom, they explained to me that this is the wrong type for the job and that if they simply tiled over jaime’s shoddy work that they couldn’t give a warranty on the work. They recommended that I remove everything that Jaime’s installers did and install the correct waterproof paper and lathe. This new tile company thought I hired some unlicensed handyman to install my tile because they said no licensed tile installer would ever use exterior stucco paper/lathe to tile a bathroom. I decided to follow the new tile contractor’s advice because I didn’t want to have issues down the road. So basically I paid Jaime to install incorrect paper/lathe and paid the new contractor to remove it and install the correct paper/lathe. I told Jaime what the new contactor told me but he doesn’t believe it, so I’m sure he is still installing incorrect waterproofing materials to this day. I think he does it this way to save time and money because you install exterior stucco paper/lathe in one step, whereas the proper materials requires two steps, 1) install waterproof paper 2) install metal lathe. 2. Prior to the job described above I had Jaime tile my master bathroom. Jaime did complete that job for me but it took days longer than what he originally estimated and he got very irritated about and gave me a bad, unprofessional attitude about it. He complained that ‘I was costing him money’. I should have taken this as a bad sign and not hired him for my master bathroom project a couple years later but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and gave him another shot. I regret ever hiring him in the first place because now I have a master bathroom that has incorrect waterproof paper installed under my marble tile and the only way to correct it is to demolish it and re-do it. It’s like a ticking time bomb in the back of my mind. I hope it doesn’t develop a leak and cause a mold problem inside my walls."
