"Holland's cleaned up our mountain lot the last 3 years and the job was done beautifully. Last year after our lot cleanup, our neighbor said our lot looked better than a well maintained park! We agreed! The owner is great to work with, is good to his word, timely, and informative. The owner helped with a problem of a downed tree that took down a utility line and contracted the utility company making sure they came out and fixed the problem. He went above and beyond the work he was doing on our property. I highly recommend Holland's services."

"Good service in certain ways but brought me sofa full of fire ants and broken big screen TV. Their sales pitch claimed they own their fleet but all I saw were Ryder rental trucks. Only my initial deposit was paid directly to mayzlin. I can't get anybody on the phone to talk about broken TV."

Dumpster Service questions, answered by experts

It’s called a 20-yard dumpster because the volume of space in the dumpster can hold 20 cubic yards of material. A cubic yard is 3-feet long, 3-feet wide, 3-feet tall cube, as 3 feet is equal to 1 yard. This volume can hold about 110 to 130 33-gallon trash bags.

Costs range from $200 to $1,000 per rental, depending on dumpster size, duration, and waste type. Additional fees may apply for exceeding weight limits or hazardous waste disposal.

Clear driveway space, ensure unobstructed pathways, and cover surfaces beneath. Noise and traffic considerations matter in residential areas.

The most affordable way to get rid of junk often involves a do-it-yourself approach, especially if you don't have a large amount of debris. Start by sorting your items into categories: donate, recycle, sell, or trash.

  • Donate or Sell: Usable goods can be donated to local charities. You can also list items for free or for a low price on platforms like Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

  • Use Municipal Services: Your city's regular garbage collection or bulk pickup days can be the cheapest option. However, be sure to check community guidelines for quantity limits and accepted materials. You can also take recyclables to a city drop-off center.

  • Haul it Yourself: If you have a truck or suitable vehicle, loading the junk and taking it to a local transfer station, public dump, or waste disposal facility is a very cost-effective method.

If a DIY approach isn't possible, consider these options:

  • Rent a Dumpster: You can rent a dumpster, fill it yourself, and the rental company will haul it away. This is a good middle-ground if you can do the labor but don't have a vehicle for transport.

  • Hire a Junk Removal Service: While typically the most expensive choice, hiring a professional junk removal team is the most time-efficient and requires the least effort from you. This is a good solution if your city's services won't accept the items or if you are unable to move them yourself.

No, you can’t throw anything in a dumpster. For example, organic waste should not be thrown in a dumpster. While you can throw recyclable materials in a dumpster, it is encouraged to separate them and properly recycle them for the sake of the environment.
