"Our wonderful remodeling job was done by Best builders group & their awesome team. After shopping around for more than few months for a good home improvement company, we got to Best builders group. The project manager was easygoing, skilled, honest and perfectionist!! For sure there was no pressure of any kind which caused us to feel very comfortable with him. We decided to remodel our kitchen & the backyard. The work included the installation of artificial turf, plants/flowers while the kitchen was completely updated. They installed new cabinets (upper and lower), countertops, backsplash tiles, lights, paint and more... the new kitchen absolutely looks gorgeous and the house is like a new one. All of our friends and family always amazed when they come to visit. They took extra care of everything and the crew and staff was very nice and polite all the time. "While Michael the owner was responsive when it came to the actual scheduled job he sent a much junior technician whom I certainly did not expect because he did not tell me. They were supposed to contact me before he showed up but there was no advance call, luckily I was home at the time. The tech did his job and was about to just leave without showing/telling me about how it works or what he installed. I had to ask him about the installation so I can be sure I knew how the equipment operated and if there's anything I needed to know about the install. In the end my opinion is the attic fan was a waste of money and my time. We don't notice any difference in the interior temperature of our house when it's hot. When I inquired about a refund (within 30 days of the install), Michael said he would offer $89 refund for the equipment and not the install. And to think if I didn't use Angie's list, this would have cost me several more hundred dollars. An expensive lesson learned!

"Edgar has worked on my rental properties and my home for over 10 years. He is an independent hardworking, and trustworthy person. Edgar has done all types of work; remodeling my kitchen and closets, installing/refinishing hardwood floors, painting, general plumbing, installation of smoke detectors, light fixtures including ceiling lights and patio lights. He has installed many of my appliances and toilets. On the outside, Edgar has also repaired my roofs, changed gutters, hauled trash, and fixed sprinklers. Edgar really helps me with so much of my repair works."

"Granted, the work isn't completely finished, but I wanted to update my review to post how impressed I am. Danny Gold and his crew just completed the tile install phase. They did an extremely complex "wood" tile pattern which looks beautiful in photos and EVEN better in reality. In addition, the bulk of the work and hassles and noise was done remotely while I was out of town. Luis was great an explaining things and even though I wasn't there, I felt everything would be handled with the utmost care and attention to details. Talk about trustworthy!!! Such a gift in a contractor. The tile work cost me a bit more than I expected, but the work was well worth it. They are handling all the extremely annoying inspections (City of Santa Monica slows everything so much!) My shower glass guy was super impressed with the precision of the bathroom. "Like laser crafted" In all, HIGHLY recommend their work!!"

"I met with Barry, one of the project managers.  i had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for, and he was able to put together some models on his laptop even during our first meeting.  We met maybe three times to finalize the details, mostly on the layout, cabinets, and counters/sinks, since his company provided those.  Barry also met me at a tile shop that he does business with.  The selection there was good and he got me a very good price on the floor tile I wanted.  I wasn't happy with the wall tile there, so I got that myself from another place.  I also provided the fixtures, tub, and cabinet hardware.  Barry was very helpful, flexible, and patient.
We scheduled the work to start about a week after we were done with the design and purchases, to accommodate his staffing.  The work took within a few days of what we estimated, plus a few loose ends.  The workers were very careful and clean.  They were often in the house alone.  I chose PHB partly because they employ all their workers or use trusted partners (not random subcontractors).  A crew of three regulars did the job, with a few other one-time people, like the electrician and counter-top guys.  One really incredible guy, Yari, came on the days when some of the most important work was being done (like the initial demo, the plumbing, and the final fixture installations).  This guy was amazing and does really great quality work.
Overall I had a great experience with this company and would use them again.  I never felt any pressure, and we stuck to the original price, even when a few things got delayed or needed a bit more work than anticipated.  They even re-did some small things in order to make sure I was totally happy."
