"This was a local move in Los Angeles, and overall the experience was solid. I?ll start with the good part ? the movers knew what they were doing. Furniture was wrapped properly, boxes were handled with care, and nothing arrived broken or scratched, which is the most important thing for me. There were a couple of small things that weren?t perfect. One box ended up in the wrong room at first, and I had to ask them to move it again. Also, the disassembly of the bed took a bit longer than I expected, which slowed things down slightly. Nothing major, just small delays. That said, once everything was unloaded, they took the time to make adjustments without complaining. They moved the couch twice so it fit better, tightened the bed frame after setup, and made sure the heavier items were placed safely. "My name is Lorraine, and I received a quote of $14,000 from a broker. The broker verified my inventory multiple times before the scheduled pickup, and it was accurate. However, the broker subcontracted the move to Presto Logistics, a company I was unfamiliar with at the time. I had engaged the broker, not Presto, and was unaware that they were acting as a broker themselves, which led to my surprise when a different company arrived. This situation quickly escalated when Presto Logistics increased my costs from $14,000 to nearly $30,000. They have not provided any documentation to justify this significant price hike, and they continue to refuse my requests for such paperwork. Consequently, I am left with no option but to file a complaint with the Department of Transportation to obtain the necessary documentation. Additionally, I have numerous damaged items, and without the required paperwork, I cannot file an insurance claim!"
