"Tewah did an amazing job. He was very professional, reasonable and had the best side manners. My place was spotless after he got done removing the popcorn ceiling, he made sure of that. I wish all contractors were as honest and helpful as he was. Thank you again for helping me get this job done. I will definitely pass the word around my neighborhood."

"Jeremy is a true professional. He is versatile and can fix almost anything ranging from purchasing a big screen TV to fixing a squeak in my bedroom door. But that's not all. He removed and installed my popcorn ceiling, He loaded my personal photos on my big screen smart TV. His work is seamless and perfect. I would highly recommend Jeremy Molina for any job. He is EXCELLENT!"

Customers say: True professional

"I’m honestly glad Marc was referred to me. My mom hired another person to redo her home and not only was the color off and warped but it wasn’t what she asked for and took a long time to complete. Marc was able to fix the terrible job that was done. He also removed this hideous acoustic (popcorn ceiling) in her living room, retextured, painted, and did crown molding. We’re planning on doing her garage next and will plan to hire him again. He’s honest, straightforward, very clean beautiful work, and very quick! My mom and I have been taken advantage of in the past with remodeling/home improvement and we definitely did not get that with Marc!"

"Tony and his crew did a great job! He was responsive and communicative when we talked to him about our job texturing our bedroom, fixing ca crack in the ceiling and replacing some drywall near our bathroom. The price he offered was reasonable. Our start time shifted slightly and he was flexible with our dates. When we began , his crew showed up on time and stayed on the project without any delays. They worked efficiently, and were careful at clean up and maintaining the room.. Thé texture is beautiful, an old world texture that is a big step up from the skip trowel we had on the wall.. It was a pleasure to work with his team and I would highly recommend them to others."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

Textured walls are a great way to hide imperfections left over by drywall installation, but many homeowners feel like it’s an outdated look, despite there being so many types of drywall texture. And while the textured walls of today are a far cry from the popcorn ceilings and faux stucco of our grandmother’s homes, if you want a more modern look or you want to install wallpaper, it’s time to smooth out your walls.

Professionals handle heavy lifting, proper disposal, and recycling, reducing environmental impact.

It depends on the type of texture you’re adding but yes, you can often use a roller to texturize a ceiling. The roller needs to be able to hold enough medium to create some relief on the ceiling but not so much that gravity will pull it off before it dries. Using a roller with a nap between ½” and ¾” will allow the roller to hold enough material to do the trick.

In most cases, it is worth removing popcorn ceilings because they are considered outdated and can make a home more difficult to sell. Buyers typically prefer a smooth, modern finish, so removing the texture can increase a home's value and appeal. The necessity can sometimes depend on the housing market; in a competitive market, buyers may be more willing to overlook minor renovations. The most critical factor is the potential presence of asbestos, which is common in older popcorn ceilings and poses a significant health hazard if the material deteriorates. If you know your ceiling contains asbestos, you are required to disclose this when selling, which can be a major deterrent for buyers. In this situation, it is highly recommended to have a professional remove or encapsulate the ceiling to resolve the issue before it impacts the sale.

Professionals use spraying or painting machines for application, skimming and filling for repairs, or specialized scraping techniques for safe removal.
