Small jobs welcome

"Tewah did an amazing job. He was very professional, reasonable and had the best side manners. My place was spotless after he got done removing the popcorn ceiling, he made sure of that. I wish all contractors were as honest and helpful as he was. Thank you again for helping me get this job done. I will definitely pass the word around my neighborhood."

"Jeremy is a true professional. He is versatile and can fix almost anything ranging from purchasing a big screen TV to fixing a squeak in my bedroom door. But that's not all. He removed and installed my popcorn ceiling, He loaded my personal photos on my big screen smart TV. His work is seamless and perfect. I would highly recommend Jeremy Molina for any job. Customers say: True professional

"I hired Marc to fix some issues with the drywall in my bathroom. He answered all my questions during the inspection and told me how it would look once he was done. I was really impressed with the work he did and my bathroom looks better I expected. You can tell Marc is a pro once you see the finished product. I also had him get rid of the popcorn ceiling in the living room and patch up a few cracks. I had seen a couple videos on youtube and I was ready for a mess, but he took care of everything and it was all very controlled. He gave me a good quote for the ceiling and it turned out great like the bathroom. My living room looks brighter and much more modern. Marc said he also paints exteriors, so that might be my next project. Thanks"

"Tony and his crew did a great job! He was responsive and communicative when we talked to him about our job texturing our bedroom, fixing ca crack in the ceiling and replacing some drywall near our bathroom. The price he offered was reasonable. Our start time shifted slightly and he was flexible with our dates. When we began , his crew showed up on time and stayed on the project without any delays. They worked efficiently, and were careful at clean up and maintaining the room.. Thé texture is beautiful, an old world texture that is a big step up from the skip trowel we had on the wall.. It was a pleasure to work with his team and I would highly recommend them to others."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

Although texturing walls may not seem like a lengthy project, you’ll need to set aside between one and five days to complete it properly. The exact amount will depend on the scope of your project—one room will take less than a whole-house project. That will give you enough time for tasks that are time-consuming in and of themselves, like taping wall edges, priming the walls and letting them dry fully, and actually applying the texture and top or base paint coats.

Textured walls are a great way to hide imperfections left over by drywall installation, but many homeowners feel like it’s an outdated look, despite there being so many types of drywall texture. And while the textured walls of today are a far cry from the popcorn ceilings and faux stucco of our grandmother’s homes, if you want a more modern look or you want to install wallpaper, it’s time to smooth out your walls.

The average popcorn ceiling removal costs around $2,000, but prices can range from $950 to $3,100, depending on the size, accessibility, and whether or not there’s asbestos or lead paint.

We don’t recommend DIYing this project to save money, but you can DIY the prep work to speed things up. Consider removing furniture, ceiling lights, and other fixtures before the workers arrive on site. To be extra helpful, cover any remaining belongings with plastic tarps and secure them with tape.

Soundproofing enhances privacy, reduces ambient and external noise for improved concentration, and creates a more comfortable living environment, especially in noisy neighborhoods or busy households. Additionally, it can improve the audio quality in spaces like home theaters.

Popcorn ceilings have fallen out of popularity for several reasons, though opinions on them can vary. The primary drawbacks include an outdated appearance, difficulty with cleaning and maintenance, and potential health risks, as ceilings installed before the 1990s may contain asbestos. As design trends have shifted toward sleeker, more modern finishes, many homeowners now prefer smooth ceilings for their clean look and easier upkeep. However, popcorn ceilings do offer some benefits, such as excellent acoustic properties for noise reduction and the ability to hide imperfections. Some also appreciate their retro charm or find them to be a cost-effective solution. Ultimately, whether they are "bad" depends on personal preference, safety concerns, and aesthetic goals.
