Customers say: Super punctual

"Juan is very easy to work with and was able to accommodate our difficult project in a short amount of time. We had popcorn ceiling removed and replaced with a smooth finish, with a large sloped ceiling almost 15ft high. The quote was reasonable and matched the finished project exactly, the quality of work is fantastic, and the project was done in a short amount of time. His team went above-and-beyond to paint where beams had been removed; something that was not in our original quote. We are very happy with the work done and look forward to working with Juan for any drywall needs in the future."

"Tony and his crew did a great job! He was responsive and communicative when we talked to him about our job texturing our bedroom, fixing ca crack in the ceiling and replacing some drywall near our bathroom. The price he offered was reasonable. Our start time shifted slightly and he was flexible with our dates. When we began , his crew showed up on time and stayed on the project without any delays. They worked efficiently, and were careful at clean up and maintaining the room.. Thé texture is beautiful, an old world texture that is a big step up from the skip trowel we had on the wall.. It was a pleasure to work with his team and I would highly recommend them to others."

"Very well. We had to be entirely out of the house for two nights. But it was understandable because *everything* was covered in plastic. They sent instructions ahead of time. You really need to pack up most things, even thought they say only breakables need to be removed. The electrical and drywall work was well done. They asked a lot of questions about the placement of the new can lights, the switches, etc. We really love the new lights. They even swapped out a nearby old light so that they all looked the same - nice touch! The ceilings look great. The new entrance to the attic was very nicely done. The painting on the ceilings looked great. The folks that did the work really took some pride in their work, and with good reason. The price was fair, and I'd hire them again."

"Candido was great! He didn't accept anything but the best workmanship. My newly purchased house needed a lot of prep work and priming due to the dried out wood siding on the street side. Candido made some excellent stucco repairs in back that blended in perfectly. He really went the extra mile to give us a very good looking paint job. The price was competitive and the work was excellent! What more can you want!? My teenager said, "Our house looks awesome!" We were so pleased that we gave a bonus. Worth every dollar!"

"Bill and the rest of the Fine Point team were incredible.
They sanded and repainted a large kitchen with stained oak cabinets. Since the oak didn't take the paint like other woods, they applied an extra coat of primer and and extra finishing coat to make sure that it looked the way we hoped. They used a spray, which helped give the cabinets a professional, uniform coat. They look fantastic.
When the paint dried, some of the cabinets didn't close properly. This is not a criticism?when we told Bill, he came by the next day to fix those that were misaligned (which could have happened in any project), so the final kitchen looked perfect.
The whole team was really friendly. They put in extra hours to make sure the job was done well, and honored their initial estimate, which was completely reasonably compared to some estimates we received.
They touched up several areas of the house. When we couldn't find a matching paint for the upstairs bathroom, Bill repainted the entire wall with another paint, and he did it for a nominal fee.
What can I say? The team was patient with us as clients, thorough with the job, and masters of the craft. Our house looks fantastic, and I'd hire them or recommend them in a heartbeat.

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

Knockdown hides imperfections better than orange peel due to its thicker, more varied pattern. The valleys and peaks make flaws less visible under lighting. However, note that knockdown walls will collect more dust and dirt, so be prepared to wipe them away more frequently than you would with orange peel.

It is often less expensive to cover a popcorn ceiling instead of removing it. Installing drywall costs $1.50 to $3 per square foot, whereas popcorn ceiling removal averages $7 per square foot. Another option may be installing beadboard panels over top, giving your ceiling a fresh and modern look.

It depends on the type of texture you’re adding but yes, you can often use a roller to texturize a ceiling. The roller needs to be able to hold enough medium to create some relief on the ceiling but not so much that gravity will pull it off before it dries. Using a roller with a nap between ½” and ¾” will allow the roller to hold enough material to do the trick.

Because of the nature of the texture, it's common for the popcorn texture to loosen while painting. Popcorn ceilings are delicate, and using a heavy hand with a roller or applying overly wet paint can loosen the texture. To avoid a mess, handle the material gently with a roller or brush. It's also smart to test a small area first, and if the texture starts coming off, the ceiling may need repairs or sealing before painting.

Professionals handle heavy lifting, proper disposal, and recycling, reducing environmental impact.
