"All Good Plumbing is a superb business. I got immediate response from Brian, the owner. He came to my house on a Saturday to see my issue. When I decided to have him do my replacement and repair his team came within 2 days and replaced my water heater. All in all, they are quick to respond, efficient and professional."

"We had a pleasant experience with Longo Plumbing from the estimate cost to the finished job. All was done the same day at a reasonable price . It was easy to communicate and ask questions. All was done in a profesional but friendly manner. I just received a call to inquire if our bathroom is fine. Thanks from Frank and Elena"

"Our 19 year-old AC went out in a heat wave--when else! Huft sent help the following morning--at the scheduled time. We had lots of questions for the technician and were impressed by his professionalism and knowledge. What's the rated life of the AC (and furnace) we have? Can the old, noisy AC be fixed (yes). Or is it time to replace it? What are the likely utility savings of replacing, rather than repairing? What can be done about the one room that's hotter than the rest? What SMUD rebates are available? He answered all our questions and ran the numbers, providing all the facts so we could make an informed decision. Ultimately we decided to replace the HVAC system with a more appropriately sized one that's more efficient and quieter.  He made the sale not by selling but by informing. The installation team arrived promptly at the scheduled time. They were friendly, efficient, and extremely careful. Everything was handled to reduce our stress and make the necessary investment in our home's infrastructure as painless as possible. Now everything is cool again. I recommend Huft without reservation.

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

You can use a new bathtub after 24 to 48 hours. It's best to double-check with your plumber, though, because the time can depend on the type of bathtub installed and special process or materials used. For example, certain sealants need longer to cure, or if the installation involves extensive plumbing work, the plumber might want you to wait.

Installing a drop-in tub yourself is possible, especially if you’re replacing your existing tub with a new one of the same size. If you’re replacing a different type of tub, you’ll need to build the structure to hold the new drop-in tub and finish the exposed sides. The structure must be sturdy enough to hold the tub when it’s filled with water, and you’ll need to seal it. If any plumbing work is required, it’s best to call a licensed plumber who installs bathtubs.

There are a few things you can do to keep your bathroom remodel as affordable as possible in your mobile home:

  • Ask your contractor to replace caulk and grout rather than retiling

  • Ask your professional to refinish your tub/shower rather than replacing

  • Upgrade your sink fixtures rather than replacing the sink

  • Upgrade cabinet hardware and ask your remodeler to refinish the cabinets

  • Avoid changing the layout of your bathroom

The best bathroom floor tiles are strong enough to withstand the weight of a clawfoot tub. However, professional tile installation is essential. If the tiles are uneven or improperly fixed, they may crack under the pressure. Be careful when installing the tub—if it drops or drags on the tiles, it could easily cause scratches or cracks.

Whether converting a tub to a shower is worth it depends on your personal circumstances and priorities. For many, a shower is a safer option that reduces the risk of slip-and-fall accidents, making it a valuable upgrade. It can also be a worthwhile conversion if a shower is more practical for your lifestyle and you rarely use the tub. However, there are potential downsides to consider. The cost, which can range from $1,200 to $8,000, can be a deterrent. Additionally, if you have young children, a bathtub is often easier for bathing them. Finally, removing the only bathtub in a home can potentially lower its resale value in the eyes of some buyers.
