"Description of Work: Trim 3 Trees on front porch & front yard. After completion of tasks, the Tree Trimmer did not clean off black marks left on my concrete front porch. He also did not follow instructions on how much to cut back teee limbs. He ended up cutting away to many limbs thus leaving very little foilage left for shading porch from hot sun. I went forward with the work as I was in dire need of tree trimming services asap becaz the tree had grown over the rain gutter onto the roof. When the wind or rain came it would blow the tree limbs making loud scraping & dripping noises. We had to ask that the contractor to come back and remove the blk marks on porch concrete. He did so within 2 weeks. He pressure washed the entire front porch per my request thus leaving it looking very clean. He also cut back some additional limbs per my request that were low hanging stragglers. Overall he tidied up when he finished the task by blowing front porch & yard with a leaf blower. He discarded the cut branches & leaves into my green garbage can. At the completion of the re-work I came to front door with credit card to pay the contractor. He swiped my card using a hand held device smaller than a deck of cards. The payment went thru and confirm email was sent to me. Later after the re-work was completed I got 3 other quotes and found his tree trim service was $100's of dollars higher than comparable contractors in the area. Wished I had done that before I hired him. But Angie's list highly recommended him so I thought it was a good fit for my project. Apparently not. The tree trimming was over done by taking off too much of the foliage. In my communications and experience with this tree trimmer I found him to be not polite and to overly confident. Not willing to make any compromises regarding discounting the tree trim invoice due to his not following my instructions on how much to cut back the tree limbs. He was demanding payment over the phone and overly aggressive at first when I spoke to him about cutting back to much of the tree. Claiming I should have come outside while they were trimming to supervise. I had already gone over the instructions with him by texting him one week before start of job. I thought he was clear on how much to cut back but apparently not. So, I would not recommend or use this outfit again."

I specialize in proper tree maintenance and removal, appropriate tree cuts to promote optimal healthy growth, weight reduction and topping, thinning and dead limb removal, diagnosis of common tree diseases (ie. conk, rot, unstable soil), and mitigation of common tree diseases to help remedy the best possible solution for the homeowner. I have been in the business since 1997 and spent most of my years working with PGE doing line clearance. I am line clearance certified so I am certified to work near high voltage power lines. I am willing to work storm damage and emergency work. I am offering my services locally. Even if it is a simple chimney clearing or you have a questionable dangerous limb over a house or garage, I do it all. I offer affordable trimming for multiple palms trims. Whether tree roots will regrow after the tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some eventually tree roots die, as they lack photosynthesis; however, others can resprout from the roots and even produce new growth for up to seven years or more, if they belong to a species that reproduces through root sprouts.

Unfortunately, palm tree stumps are one of the most difficult types to remove due to how their roots grow. Unlike other trees, palm tree roots grow horizontally and vertically. Palm tree roots grow as deep as three feet into the ground, although soil and growing conditions could mean they go as far as 50 inches into the earth. 

If you want to be able to repurpose the grass in the area where you removed a stump later, you’ll have to dig quite deep—and perhaps wide—to trim away all the roots.

Although many tree roots will continue to grow after the tree has been cut, there are a handful of exceptions to this rule. While species like elms, ficus, and willows have roots that will regrow with a vengeance, pine, oak, and maple roots will die when they’re cut down. If you’re not sure what kind of tree roots you’re dealing with, there’s a simple way to find out. New sprouts on old trunks, stumps, or exposed roots are a sign that the root system is still hard at work.

After a big storm, you may not be sure if a tree was struck or not. Look for the telltale long scars, like strips or gouges in the bark of the tree, running in sometimes jagged lines down the length of the trunk. These scars will often show vulnerable living wood inside the tree. It’s also common to see scorched or wilted leaves on the side or top of the tree where lightning struck.

Trees should be pruned every two to five years, depending on its age and type. Young trees should be inspected and pruned every two to three years. Mature trees should be inspected and trimmed every three to five years, and fruit trees should be pruned annually with a careful eye on seasonal growth. Evergreens typically don’t need pruning, unless branches or limbs are damaged, diseased, or harboring pests.
