"The job was done as requested. Rudy listened to discern what we valued such as the health of the tree. He took the time to educate us. He gave us options. We appreciate the respect shown. Thank you."

"Augustine and his team did a great job on my 35 year old redwood tree and an apricot tree. They arrived on time, trimmed the trees as I expected, and did a great job cleaning up."

"His price is competitive with "All" the licenses you need for someone to be on your property. My renters were very happy with his communication during the job and their yards were cleaner when done then before he started. No problem bringing him back for more work later..."

"They happened to be in the area when I went online looking for a tree trimming service, I had scheduled 2 other companies for quotes, but he gave me a quote that day and was able to do the work the next day. I didn't want my trees to be polardized just thinned out. I wanted them to still look good. I have an erithina christa galli tree and a bidwilli cross as well as 2 crape myrtle trees that needed to be pruned. The crew did a great job- quick and efficient, my trees look great. I would definitely have them come back if I need more trimming done."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The cost of trees varies massively based on the size of the tree and the species. A small Colorado spruce can cost as little as $30, but a golden rain tree of the same size can cost $90. Large trees can cost $1,500 or more, depending on their species and height.

The best time to cut down a tree is during its dormant season, typically in winter or early spring, after all the leaves have fallen. Removing a tree during this period is advantageous for several reasons. Frozen ground helps secure the tree stump, protects the surrounding landscape from damage, and reduces the risk of the tree falling in an unintended direction. With the leaves gone, there is less risk of the tree's foliage getting tangled with other trees. Additionally, since this is often a slower season for tree services, you may be able to hire a professional at a lower rate. This dormant period is also the best time for tree trimming.

Local tree removal prices range from $200 to $2,000 overall, but vary depending on:

  • Local cost of labor and supplies

  • Accessibility of the tree

  • Local laws regarding who is allowed to remove the tree

  • The species of the tree (softer woods are often easier to remove)

  • Local seasonal discounts for the off-season

The Christmas tree type that smells the best to you will ultimately depend on personal preference. But if that classic Christmas tree smell is important to you, choosing a type of tree known for its scent is a safe bet. Try a balsam fir for a spicy, comforting scent or a Douglas fir for a sweeter smell. You may also like Fraser firs, Scotch pines, and blue spruces.

Talking with a septic pro before planting trees near your tank is best to ensure the roots won’t interfere with your septic system. However, there is an easy way to figure out where to plant a tree—but you’ll need to know how tall it can get when it’s fully grown. For instance, if the tree can reach 50 feet, plant it at least 50 feet from your septic system.
