"Lifted Roots Tree Service did an incredible job. They removed a large pine and sycamore for our business and handled everything with precision and professionalism. The crew was efficient, courteous, and clearly knew what they were doing. From start to finish, the process was smooth and stress free. Highly recommend them to anyone needing quality tree work."

"The work was performed quickly and efficiently. The tree was safely felled away from the house and then chopped up using chain saws. The stump was ground down below the ground, so it is no longer visible. The branches and trunk were completely removed from my yard. The area was completely cleaned so someone could not even tell that a tree had been there. I would definitely hire them again. Finally, their price was one-third of another Angie's list tree service I obtained a quote from, which was nice."

"I interacted with Adrian (co-owner), Joe (co-owner), Eric (foreman I think), and Cassidy (front desk). In the first step of contacting them after I got a flier in the mail, it was easy to get ahold of them and set up a time, no hassle. Cassidy was very charming and endearing to speak with. Then I met with Adrian about the bid and he was helpful and informative when I inquired about the health of the trees and how I could support their health (same with Eric). Joe and Eric came to actually carry out the work for the project and they were both pleasant to speak with as well. They were also easy-going, helpful, and organized with their work force. I could see they all worked hard to get the job done (and there was a lot to do). I wasn't able to engage with Joe as much, but when I spoke with Eric, he was informative, patient, and thorough in his occupational execution as well. Did a good job cleaning up too! I greatly appreciate their service, and here's another thing on my check list I can mark off and be relieved about!"

"We have had our trees trimmed almost every year for more than 4 decades. Over this time only three tree services have been used with AAA Tree Service being the most recent and best. They have trimmed trees, removed three 50 yr old massive trees and provided stump grinding as well. Soon they will be doing some trenching to remove redwood tree roots. AAA offers very competitive prices, arrives on time, does not make you wait for days to get the job done and thoroughly cleans up after the work is completed. They are fully licensed and insured. Paul, Hector, the “Singing Sparrow” Mario and the rest of the team are outstanding. They will remain our tree service provider. I highly recommend them."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Most plum trees are pruned into a vase or open wine glass shape. They’ll have a shorter central leader (the trunk) that supports three to four main branches. Of course, this isn't always the case. If you have a European plum tree, you can grow it in a pyramid shape. Let the central leader extend the length of the tree and prune smaller branches to create the pyramid.

For trimming trees, your best tool is a pair of pruning shears or loppers. Both options work best for branches that are under 3 inches in diameter. Trimming trees with a larger diameter may require a robust tool like a small chainsaw or a handsaw, so take into account your tree’s diameter when deciding between tools.

Before you cut down a dead palm tree, try to revive it using the methods listed above. However, there are instances when it makes sense to remove a dead palm tree, including:

  • The heavily infected tree will infect nearby trees, bushes, and plants.

  • The palm’s roots are overtaking your yard, foundation, and sidewalk and causing structural damage.

  • The tree is unstable and a hazard to your property, your neighbor’s property, and pedestrians.

State and local laws vary, but in most cases, you are allowed to trim any branches from your neighbor's tree that cross your property line. However, it's important to ensure you do not damage the overall health of the tree in the process. Removing branches incorrectly can jeopardize the health of the tree and could lead to you being on the hook to replace it.

Carefully pruning small roots no thicker than three inches in diameter won’t harm the tree. However, cutting larger roots may impact the tree's stability and nutrient absorption. It's advisable to consult an arborist or tree care professional to evaluate the root's size, the tree's health, and the potential impact of cutting. Proper tree pruning techniques and timing can minimize damage, but larger root removal may necessitate expert guidance to avoid compromising the tree's overall health and stability.
