Customers say: Quick response

"John N Eddie were great to work with. They were both friendly and highly professional throughout the entire process. They used professional equipment to complete the tree removal and stump grinding efficiently. Whether we were talking before the work started or during the job, they were always courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. They arrived around 8:15 a.m. and completed the entire project by approximately 1:00 p.m. After removing the trees and grinding the stumps, they thoroughly cleaned the work area. They also repaired my fence after finishing the job, as they had needed to open it to access and remove a tree in the backyard. I was very pleased with the quality of their work and attention to detail. I would definitely recommend John N Eddie to anyone looking for a professional and reliable company for tree removal and stump grinding."

"Rancho Tree Care was referred to us by our daughter and son-in-law, and Iâ m so glad that they because Ranchoâ s the best. I usually donâ t give reviews for average or unsatisfactory results, but for this one, I couldn't get to my keyboard quickly enough. The words Tree Care in the name certainly speaks truth ! Because that is exactly what you get with this company. Not just tree trimming but instead Tree Care in the highest degree. There were many masterful precision/ surgical maneuvers performed on my trees by Hector along with his top notch assistants Silvario and Vicente (whom both were very kind, cordial and friendly). Rancho Tree Cares work is rated 1st cabin in my book and second to none anywhere bar none. I Believe that anyone hiring Hector and his team would be very impressed as they demonstrate their finely honed craft, and even more impressed at the the beauty of their works final result. I had them remove 1 -large citrus tree, and trim six large trees (2-Elm, 2-Hackberry, 1 -Fig, and 1 Peach. They didnâ t just trim them, instead they performed Ornamental Arboricultural Art on my property. If their high degree of Tree Care Service was an Olympic sport, they would win the gold medal hands down..! If anyone and everyone reading this review are ever looking to improve the outward aesthetics of your homes or properties (and you have trees), you need to NOT look any further than Hector Varelaâ s Rancho Tree Care. They are the first and last name (the only name ) that needs to be in your contacts (probably on speed dial ) when it comes to â Tree Care â service. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED . . . ! ! !"

"Highly recommend Diego and his crew. They showed up as scheduled and did a wonderful trimming job on my two trees. They chipped and cleaned up all debris. My trees look wonderful and ready for a Spring bloom. A neighbor noticed their great work and asked me for a referral. Done! Thank you Diego!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

If you aren’t sure what you’re doing, be very careful when cutting mature tree roots (roots larger than 2 inches). Root cutting and pruning can affect both a tree’s stability and its ability to nourish itself. Issues during root cutting can result in damage or injury.

It’s recommended you call in a pro to help, unless it’s a very small tree and you aren’t worried about the prospect of losing the tree.

Any cutting of tree roots can hurt or kill a tree, which is why it's recommended you don’t do it unless the roots are damaging or invasive on a nearby structure like your home. You should never cut more than 15 percent of above-ground tree roots at one time. If you have any questions about cutting tree roots, contact your local arborist.

Ideally, you should wait to prune until trees have gone dormant in late fall to early winter. The worst times to prune trees are early fall and late summer, as pruning them so close to dormancy makes it difficult for the tree recover before it goes dormant for the season.

In nature, there are many things that can cause a tree to die, including diseases, insects, and natural disasters such as fires or droughts. Non-natural methods of killing a tree include herbicides or manual intervention, such as cutting it down. Consult a tree removal professional about your options for naturally killing a tree.
