"Spino Excavating Inc is a very competent contruction company. Their honesty and integrity is known in the Southern California industry. They work patiently and energetically with their project owners, architects, engineers, and of course us building inspectors. "Called Drainco out for clogged drain(s), and was a little concerned that an AGENT ROOTER van pulled up, but Eric and his assistant, who arrived within the time frame, assured me that they work closely with Drainco, and went to work on what was a mess of roots in the main line. None of the standard clean-outs were usable, so they had to remove both toilets and snake from there. I was there, so I could see how difficult it was. I knew my plumbing needed a major overhaul, but until then, I'm grateful that Eric kept at it until I at least had toilets that flushed! The bill was very reasonable and they left the house clean. Will definitely use them again (but hopefully not too soon).

"Leaving this review in regards to the excellent job that was done by U.S. Home Developers. We had them remodel both our driveway and our roof. When we first called in they mentioned that they were first going to send in their project manager. Upon meeting him and going over all of the plans we immediately felt that we were in good hands. The project ended up coming out great and our home looks better than ever. Thank you!"

"I received 3 bids for this project.  From the very first interview with Roei, a partner I was impressed with his ability to advise on some ideas to save money and make the kitchen more efficient, he was very professional and never pushed me.   I hired him to start 7/31/13, he quoted 2 weeks, and it was completed in 2 weeks, and the cost was as quoted.   This was one of the best renovation experiences I have had in the 40 yrs I have lived in this house.   All the workers, were polite, on time, cleaned up after, and did really good work.  I would hire Best Builders again for any home projects and recommend them highly to anyone else looking for a good experience in renovating any part of their home.

"not that great. basically paid $99 to get an estimate. included cleaning roof and minimal repairs. took a while to get appointment, and then when they came, they didn't even do the work! gave a really big estimate and then re-seheduled to have someone else do the work. they wouldn't totally replace the roof, gave different estimates to repair, I went with a different company to do a full roof rplacement."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

The rules and regulations regarding groundwater use vary between states. To find out if you can dig a well on your property, you’ll have to consult these regulations, address any compliance requirements, and get the appropriate permits. It’s also important to check that your intended location has the right geology and water table to support a well.

Trenching is a specific kind of digging. Trenching means digging a depression in the earth that’s deeper than it is wide, often with heavy machinery. Digging refers to any kind of removal of earth in order to create a human-made depression, hole, or cut in the earth’s surface. You can dig with big tools or even with just a hand shovel.

Water lines are buried at various depths, depending on the type of line. For example, most sprinkler lines are buried between four and 12 inches underground. On the other hand, water mains usually sit between one and 3 feet below ground. However, they can go even deeper in cold climates to prevent freezing.

The easier way to find buried sprinkler lines is to use the plan from the professionals who installed the system. If you don’t have professional plans, listen for running water on your lawn when you turn on the system. You may also spot wet areas, giving you an idea of where the heads are. Once you find the sprinkler heads, you’ll likely be able to connect the dots between them, revealing the system below.

Depending on the severity of the freeze and the method used, thawing frozen underground pipes can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. Applying heat directly to the pipe using heat tape, infrared lamps, or hot water jetting can speed up the process. However, patience and careful monitoring are key to avoiding pipe damage.
