We hired Doug to build a wall to enclose our front yard and update the fence in our backyard. The project has gone on without any issues. All of our neighbors are very impressed with the work. His crew is friendly, helpful, and very professional. Doug comes by to monitor progress, check in with his team, and make sure we are pleased with the progress. We've even added additional work to the scope and intend to use him for more projects in the future.

As our project nears completion, I wanted to express how impressed we have been with the quality of service through Del Mar Landscape. After 30 years, we completely reconfigured our front yard with a low maintenance/ water usage design. New lighting, porch tiles, and walkways were incorporated. Our backyard has new lighting, a fire pit, new pergolas, and a new walkway. The transformation has been amazing, and we continually receive compliments from our neighbors. This success is due to the dedication and talent from Doug and his team. No matter how busy Doug may be, he continually contacts us by phone or with in-person visits to review the project and to provide updates. Any call to him is immediately answered. Doug is very relaxed and supportive in addressing changes/requests identified as the project moves forward. Most importantly, he has an excellent team of workers doing the job. They arrive early each day and diligently work to advance each stage of the project. They are highly personable and communicative as they work throughout each day. They ask for input to assure they are meeting our needs and will suggest ways to address design changes. In addition, they assure the area is clean and accessible before leaving for the day. As a result, I would highly recommend Del Mar Landscape for any future landscaping needs.

We hired Del Mar Landscape based on reviews and a positive interview with Doug. We had high hopes that this project would go smoothly and with the professionalism that Doug promised. We should have known from the first day when the crew was supposed to start and no one showed up.... Doug only showed up on days when he wanted money. He never came on any other days to check on progress. Doug was not happy that we wanted stacked stone patio pillars and BBQ island. He said we changed our mind, even though we had made it a point from the very beginning that this was what we wanted, even when he kept wanting to do something else. The way our contract was written up, he didnt account for the labor of doing the stone and this caused him to get upset with us. The bbq island counter was cracked and when we pointed it out, we were told that thats what happens sometimes. It has gotten considerably worse in the last eight months since the project was finished. The flower bed/grass cement border was measured incorrectly and now we have an unfinished and conspicuously patched border. When we ask if that could be fixed we were told that a whole new batch of cement would have to be ordered and that was just too much work and expense. We were made to feel like all these mistakes/flaws in workmanship were our fault. These are only a few of the things that have gone wrong and have led to our disappointment in hiring Del Mar Landscape. I am not sure what we did to not receive the same excellent service and workmanship that everyone else who has written a review got. We didnt change our mind, complain or interfere with the project. When Doug came by for his final payment, he couldnt even be bothered to come outside to inspect the finished project.

From the top we want to say how thrilled we are with our landscape project. This was a complex and lengthy project, mostly due to the enormous amount of rain we had this past season. Our entire yard was completely renovated â front, back and both sides. It included taking out a side hill along the house and grading a hill in our front yard to accomplish a complex paver design layout. Dougâ s crew did everything from building walls, pavers, stone caps, stacked stone pillars & siding, 2 water features, firepit, plants, irrigation, drains, artificial turf, etc. We love our new outdoor living space and so does our neighbors â who regularly comment as they pass by on walks. Doug was professional, reasonable and very timely with his responsiveness. He stayed in touch throughout the project â his crew was extremely capable and courteous. Multiple neighbors commented on how nice the crew was. The onsite project leader was very experienced and had a firm grasp on all parts of the project. He was knowledgeable and clearly wanted to make us happy and he accomplished that. As with any major construction project there will always be some frustrations, whether it is with the weather not cooperating or with discovery of needed changes during the demo and construction process. These issues were dealt with professionally â and in the end, Doug never forgot who the customer was. We utilized a designer for our process (which Doug recommended). Del Mar Landscaping crew was able to execute the vision of the design even as changes and challenges came up. We are very pleased with the hard work and are very satisfied customers!

Doug, Rolando, and the rest of the team are absolutely outstanding. Finding a good contractor can really be a c****shoot sometimes, but I hit the jackpot with Del Mar Landscape for my back patio replacement. Everyone was very efficient, professional, courteous, communicative, respectful, and meticulous. They take pride in their work, work well as a team, and the process and fabulous end product show it! I joked that I would sit in my garden to admire the patio instead of the other way around.

The work was done on schedule and within budget with top notch performance. Hard to beat! We will use them again for a couple of other projects that we have planned.

I am updating my review based on recent events. Doug has a great team of guys working for him. Doug and his team quickly understood what we were looking to do and they got to work immediately. They showed up early every day and cleaned up at the end of each day. We replaced a short wall, built a new fence on top, put in new steps with lights, and installed a large patch of artificial turf. They did a great job installing all of it. After they completed the work, I realized we overlooked some minor details and there was some paint that dripped onto the new steps. Doug quickly responded to our concerns and sent over his guys to address the areas of concern. They were able to remove the paint on the new steps and did some additional touching up to the paint on the fence that was missed. I would definitely recommend Doug and his team if anyone asked me for a landscape recommendation. We are very happy with the results and would consider the team for additional work.

Del Mar Landscaping did a fantastic job building my front courtyard. The quality of their workmanship could not be better. The final product exceeded my expectations. The concrete work, stucco wall, fencing, irrigation, lighting and landscaping all came out perfect. Everyone on this project was helpful and had great ideas whenever I had questions on the project. I highly recommend Del Mar Landscaping.

They were great. I changed to requirements part way through sprinkler installation and without any issues, re-did some of the work to make things how I wanted them. Top notch quality of workmanship, customer service, and general attitude. They'll be my lanscaper of choice for life!

They clean up after their work days. No problems. Ramon took charge and attended to all the details, provided ideas and made sure the work was done correctly the first time. They show up on time and work till the job is done. I tested them with a 60 foot retaining wall. Upon completion of the wall I was impressed so they got the job of install 600 sq.ft. of pavers as well. I chose Belgard blocks and pavers so Del Mar Landscape needed to know what they were doing for a successful outcome. I will refer them.

Del Mar Landscaping came in, listened to what I wanted, made some recommendations then proceeded to go exceed my expectations. Doug and team were hard working, professional and effecient. Thank you for a great job!!

Del Mar Landscaping accomplished multiple, fairly complex projects on our front back and side yards to give us a total landscape renovation, and did a good job to complete each one and it all looks awesome. Doug was responsive when I called him and willing to do what was required to get a quality job done and on time. They did stamped, stained concrete; some syn-lawn including bocce court and checkerboard concrete/lawn patio; a block-stucco wall; planter/garden walls; drip irrigation system; low voltage lighting; and a few different wood & metal combination fences. Some of his employees are more experienced than others and unfortunately one of the workers was underqualified for some of the specific tasks given, so some of the tasks were not done to our standards and perhaps were a little beyond the expertise of the employee assigned.

Doug was great to work with. My project was not an easy one with very limited access to the back. The goal was to install retaining walls to increase the usable space in the back, maybe even a pool. When we first met, I saw that daunting look in his face. But with an optimistic smile he made a few recommendations and we moved forward. Initially, I hired him to only do a portion of the property but after a few days, he came back with a vision of how he would do the job if he owned the property. I reluctantly agreed as my vision was a little different. His workers worked quickly (he estimated 9 days work; they were done in 6), they cleaned up their mess everyday, and were friendly and pleasant. As the work progressed, he added a few freebies such as installing steps, weed control and replacing a small wooden deck on the verge of collapse. No surprises or disappointments. I am extremely pleased with the quality of work, and the final result. Relying on his vision was the second best decision I made for this project. The best decision I made was hiring his company. At the beginning I thought his cost was a bit expensive but in the end, as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for." It was money well spent with the results exceeding my expectations. The work on the house is not complete but when it comes to irrigation and other finishing touches,I plan on using his services in the future.

Doug, his company and his team are the cream of the crop when it comes to landscaping. Value of money for service, timeliness, collaboration, bright ideas, they are perfect and a dream to work with. Thank you Ramon (you are brilliant at everything), Jaime, Oscar, Mike and last but not least Mark. They inherited a difficult project when we hired them and solutions were created every step of the way.

I have an extremely small yard. Four other companies turned me down due to the size (not worth their while). Doug, on the other hand, was helpful. He was professional and gave me a reasonable quote. Mark and his crew did a great job. Started early left late. Maintained their schedule and left the site cleaner than when they started.

My husband and I hired Del Mar Landscaping to completely renovate our front and backyard. We built a fire pit with seating, built-in BBQ island, installed turf, putting green, fence, retaining wall, walkway, landscaping, lighting, electrical, irrigation and new concrete throughout. It was a very large project that turned out amazing! From the time I met Doug, he was friendly, responsive, punctual and very easy to work with. He had a lot of wonderful ideas and continually worked with us to achieve exactly what we wanted. Doug, Ramon, Mark and the rest of the crew we had working at our house were all very pleasant, trustworthy and extremely hard working. They were knowledgeable and extremely professional. His crew had a lot of good ideas, and they did a great job communicating with us and making sure it turned out the way we envisioned. Our project was very large and they completed it quickly and truly went above and beyond our expectations to make our vision come true. My family and I are incredibly pleased with our project! I would highly recommend Doug and his crew. They are really exceptional and did an amazing job transforming our yard.
