Customers say: True professional

"Joel & his team are honest, brave , & hard working. They arrived on time everyday & cleaned up & left my home neat & well cared for every night. I have dozens of large live oaks & Monterey pines on my property some 60 feet tall. Joel helped me maintain a fire safe cleared area all around my home removing huge branches & limbs from trees that had to be climbed & cabled for safety. These are tree professionals. Actual experts not just tree trimmers. My property is a steep hillside. No problem. Most of my trees are 50 to 100 years old. Some I planted as a boy. I am 63. Everything was done safely & neatly with every tree cared for so each will thrive & live another 50 or 100 years. Joel even found a dove’s nest full of baby birds on a limb 40 feet up set to be cut & came down to ask me how to proceed. We saved the limb to save the nest while the mother & father flew around nervously. Hire Gil Tree Service. This guy is the real deal. They are the best decision you can make."

"Even though the water was off and I said he could take his time doing the job, he wanted to come the same day.
He did the work, bought supplies, showed me the cause of the leak and allowed me to watch the pipe being glued and to see it was not leaking before refiiling the dirt.
On another occasion, he replaced the heads of all sprinklers and fine-tuned the settings.

We are a fully licensed and insured Tree Service company who has been working on the Monterey Penninsula for over 25 years. We were previously known by another name, so Integri-Tree was first licensed in 2019. \nWe are a full service tree service company, with all the equipment and skill necessary to complete your job, remove all materials, and clean up your property prior to departure. Ideally you would never know we were there; except that the trees look amazing. We are specialized in Oak trimming, and continue to learn from local professors and arborists about the special needs of Monterey Coastal trees. We would always rather trim and try to rejuvenate a tree rather than cut it down. If removal is necessary; we can help you apply for the proper permits and plan the space, whether re-planting is desired or a new landscaping design. We also work with local businesses to bring their expertise for this phase of your property’s landscape design. \nWe look forward to working together.

Arborists questions, answered by experts

After a big storm, you may not be sure if a tree was struck or not. Look for the telltale long scars, like strips or gouges in the bark of the tree, running in sometimes jagged lines down the length of the trunk. These scars will often show vulnerable living wood inside the tree. It’s also common to see scorched or wilted leaves on the side or top of the tree where lightning struck.

The best time to prune Japanese flowering cherry trees depends on where you live and the type of flowering cherry tree. Some trees benefit from being pruned toward the end of winter or early spring, after the last freeze. Meanwhile, other trees do well after blooming, in late spring or early summer. Avoid pruning your flowering cherry tree in the early winter, as this encourages open wounds that can lead to infections or infestations.

If an arborist is certified by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), the highest level of certification available is ISA Board Certified Master Arborist. According to the ISA, this credential is reserved for arborists “who have reached the pinnacle of their profession.” Check your arborist’s credentials before hiring to confirm their level of training and expertise.

Cutting down a tree next to power lines is never a DIY job, and it’s a good idea to contact your utility company first. In most cases, the utility company will need to take care of any tree problems within 10 to 15 feet of power lines. If you want to remove the tree for aesthetic reasons, hire a pro to do the job. Trying to cut trees near power lines yourself can create many safety hazards, and you could be liable if you inadvertently cause damage to electrical equipment.

Trimming your palm trees once or twice per year keeps them healthy and robust. Caring for palm trees includes cutting off brown leaves to prevent wildfires and pathway obstruction. However, you don’t want to over-trim the palm tree. Cutting too many branches off will weaken the tree and prevent future growth. And it’s essential to have a strong, healthy palm tree during hurricane season to prevent safety risks or property damage.
