Customers say: True professional

"This business deserves my highest recommendation. Joel is very knowledgeable about tree care, professional, punctual, conscientious, and his team leaves the worksite nicely cleaned after the work is done. I needed extensive tree work done twice by the company, at my property in Pacific Grove. Each time I have been very pleased with their excellent work and very reasonable prices."

"This tree service was the most reasonably prices of the companies we contacted. Their experience in t he field enabled them to work quickly and efficiently, they left the work area clean and tidy. Their tree trimming allowed more air and light into the backyard. This excellent job is not the first they have done for us and is the reason we called them again for a second job."

"They did a great job, I would highly recommend them to anyone. They did an excellent service. Eric and all of the workers were great and extremely helpful for us. They were very very good and careful when cutting the limbs and the trunks of the trees. My neighbors were very appreciative of them not blocking the road during the work."

"Even though the water was off and I said he could take his time doing the job, he wanted to come the same day.
He did the work, bought supplies, showed me the cause of the leak and allowed me to watch the pipe being glued and to see it was not leaking before refiiling the dirt.
On another occasion, he replaced the heads of all sprinklers and fine-tuned the settings.

"Except for a rather long delay from the initial proposal until project start, the end result was totally satisfying (best pruning job in 20 years). If want your tree's pruned instead of cut like many pros do, this is your provider. Jesus supervises his people and works with them to complete the job. I would definitely recommend and hire this company again for my pruning needs."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

It takes anywhere from three to seven years for a stump to decompose on its own. This timeframe can depend on the kind of tree and your climate. The lower to the ground the stump is, the faster it rots. If you kill a tree stump with salt, boiling water, herbicide, light deprivation, or burning, the tree stump decomposes faster.

The cost of professional tree trimming averages $460, with a typical range between $200 and $760. However, prices can be as low as $75 or as high as $1,800 depending on several factors. The size and type of the tree are major cost drivers; for example, trimming Crepe Myrtle trees costs an average of $80 to $400, while trimming giant pine trees can range from $200 to $1,800. Other factors that influence the price include the time of year, as services are often more costly in the spring. The tree's accessibility and your location also play a role, as a remote or hard-to-reach tree may increase the cost. Some professionals may offer a discount if you have multiple trees to trim.

Yes, pruning makes trees stronger because it fosters proper growth, weight distribution, and balance of the crown. By increasing the structural integrity of the tree through pruning, it’s less likely to experience disease, pests, broken limbs, and storm damage. Pruning the right branches and limbs is key to improving a tree’s strength and balance.

A few signs a tree may be dead is if the leaves are dead and there are no signs of new blooms. You can also perform a scratch test on some of the branches to check the condition of the cambium layer beneath the bark.

If it is green, it is still alive, but if several are dry, brittle, and brown, the tree may be dying or dead. Always consult an arborist before assuming your tree is dead because you may be able to save it.

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.
