"Hamilton's price was competitive. The phone representative sound professional and courteous. However, the technician they sent seem very inexperience. He was performing the work (collecting asbestos samples) via Facetime with another senior technician. Also, he only brought a 2-step ladder trying to climb and pull himself up into the attic; he requested to come back the next day, which I'm not available. I ended up borrowing a 3-step ladder from the occupant for the technician. It was risky seeing him pulling himself up into the attic. On his way down, I have to spot him landing his foot on the ladder since the borrowed ladder was still not tall enough."

"Elite Environmental worked together with CMH Restoration Group to complete asbestos and lead testing along with mold and water mitigation. All work was completed as agreed to using excellent containment for all 3 rooms involved during the entire process. Though it took longer than expected and involved removing more of the ceiling to expose all of the mold, no additional charges were added."

Customers say: True professional

"Our landscaping in Menlo Park needed a complete refresh. The team replaced thirsty plants with drought-tolerant options that still provide plenty of color and curb appeal. We're using much less water without sacrificing appearance."

"Great knowledgeable company to work with. They were able to correctly and legally have our old asbestos fiber-cement siding removed and disposed of and then replaced it with contemporary fiber-cement siding. All at reasonable prices. Some companies never call back when they hear the word **asbestos**."

"Needed to have asbestos containing shingles removed for a siding project. The sales folks, specifically Rudolpho, were very helpful. The job was done quickly and for a fair amount. Hope not to need them again but would highly recommend."

Asbestos Removal questions, answered by experts

No, an N95 mask will not protect against asbestos and many other hazardous materials, such as carbon monoxide, gas, chemical vapors, and other gases. You will need a respirator specifically designed to protect against asbestos. However, if you suspect asbestos is present in your home, hire an asbestos abatement professional immediately and avoid the area until they arrive for the inspection.

Asbestos encapsulation is an alternative to asbestos abatement or removal. Suppose you have hired an asbestos testing service and they recommend encapsulation. In that case, they will cover the asbestos with a protective barrier or put it in a sealed enclosure so the fibers cannot escape. Encapsulation usually costs between $2 and $6 per square foot.

Homeowners’ insurance doesn’t often cover the cost to remove asbestos siding, which averages about $2,900. Insurance policies treat the removal of asbestos siding as regular home maintenance, which insurance doesn’t cover. If your siding suffers damage in a storm, though, it’s possible the insurer may cover the replacement cost, even if the damaged siding contains asbestos.

If you suspect exposure to asbestos, prioritize seeking medical advice by informing your healthcare provider about the potential exposure with clear details about the circumstances that led to the exposure. Regular health check-ups and screenings if you work in high-risk industries or live in a home with asbestos are essential for early detection of any asbestos-related conditions. You should also consider consulting occupational health experts or legal professionals for guidance on potential next steps and preventive measures.

Walking on an asbestos roof can pose a risk. Asbestos roofing materials can become brittle over time, increasing the chances of them breaking or releasing fibers when stepped on. Additionally, walking on an asbestos roof without proper precautions can cause further damage to the material. If possible, avoid touching an asbestos roof in any way and consult with a professional about removing and replacing the roof.
