"I had a service technician come out to diagnose my refrigerator 3 weeks ago. The part needed to be ordered, and after paying for the part, I scheduled the repair for 7 days after the initial diagnosis. The repairman did not show during the scheduled time, and I was called the next day to reschedule. I scheduled it for 8 days after that. The day before my second appointment, I was called, and asked to reschedule again. I requested to speak with a manager regarding the multiple reschedules. I was told I would hear back from one. The next appointment was scheduled for 7 days later. I called 5 days later as I had not heard from a manager. I was told I would be called back. On the day of the next appointment I was called and told that they would need to reschedule again. I have still not heard from a manager."

"The fan in our freezer stopped working on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, leaving our refrigerator cool but unable to get cold. We found this company on Yelp and noted they are licensed for large appliance repair. We have a Kenmore that is about 15 years old. The freezer was fine. The website lists multiple locations. We contacted the Dublin location by phone and email. I received an email response the same day. Although they could not come out that day (Saturday of Memorial weekend), they sent someone out on Monday despite being a holiday. We later learned we were dealing with the Pleasant Hill location. They told us their service travel fee was $79 but it would be deducted from the bill if we chose to proceed with the work. We were given a 2 hour window for arrival. On the day of the service appointment we were kept apprise of the technician's arrival by text. We especially appreciated the technician texting us when he was about 20 minutes away. Our technician was Paul . He was great. He wore mask, gloves and shoe covers. He took the time to look at the appliance and checked the specs of our unit online. He needed to access the fan through the freezer. He waited patiently while we emptied the freezer. If we had known in advance, we would have had the freezer emptied before he arrived - but he didn't appear to mind waiting. The drain in the freezer was also frozen over with ice. He had the equipment to thaw the ice (a steamer) - He was able to access the back drain and fan without breaking any of the plastic parts and was careful to re-install all the screws when he was done. He told us the fan was in good shape - just stopped by a clump of dust. We appreciate that he was honest and didn't just sell us a new fan. He assured us that we had a 90 day warranty and if the fan stopped working in that time we could pay for a new fan and have then install the unit for just the cost of the fan. He felt the fan and unit would last at least another 4 to 5 years but we plan to replace the unit before then. A new fan would have been another $95. We were charged $250 less $25 discount (offered on Yelp.com). Evidently they have a minimum $200 labor fee. Their service fee is on the high end compared to other companies, but they are licensed. It was clear Paul was knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. The freezer looked like new when he was done. He was neat and kept the area clean. We provided a towel at his request to wipe up any excess moisture. He was very helpful and informative about what he was doing. We couldn't have asked for a better experience."

If your refrigerator needs to be repaired, contact an appliance repair company to diagnose the issue and repair your refrigerator. It’s okay to leave it plugged in and running, but unplug it if it makes unusual noises.
Signs that your refrigerator may need repairs include:
Food items are not being held at the correct temperature (between 35 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit)
The fridge is using too much energy and seems to run all the time
Loud and/or unusual noises
Possible causes include:
A damaged door
Faulty condenser coil
Malfunctioning control board
Contacting an appliance repair professional as soon as possible can help save items in your fridge from spoiling. Common fridge repairs include the compressor, control board, thermostat, defrost motor, coils, and ice maker.
If you’re having problems with your dryer, contact an appliance repair professional as soon as possible to inspect and repair it. Having a faulty dryer can be a major inconvenience in the home.
Your dryer may need repairs if:
It isn’t turning on
It’s not releasing enough heat
The drum doesn’t spin
Common repairs include:
A damaged or worn-out belt or
Damaged or shorted electrical wiring
A control board malfunction
Dryers tend to overheat or become short-circuited over time, especially after heavy use. Other common dryer repairs include door switches, timers, and control boards.
If the unit is not under warranty, then you may want to call a reliable appliance repair technician to diagnose the issue and recommend a repair. Some of the most common washing machine issues are inadequate water supply to the unit, poor drainage due to clogging, leaks, and excessive vibration while washing. Like ovens, the cost to repair a washing machine will vary widely depending on which issue you’re experiencing.
The average cost to repair an appliance depends on the appliance, make, model, the part that needs repair, and how long it takes to replace or repair a part. The following are the average repair costs for the most common appliances:
Refrigerator: $200–$300
Freezer: $90–$500
Oven, cooktop, range: $100–$500
Microwave: $50–$400
Dishwasher: $160–$300
Garbage disposal: $70–$250
Washing machine: $50–$450
Dryer: $100–$400
Appliance repair contractors may charge $40 to $120 per hour for labor, and most also provide the replacement parts necessary at an additional cost. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays and emergency fees may apply if you need your appliance fixed immediately.
It's good to contact the manufacturer first to see if any warranties still exist, and if they have any specific repair persons they recommend. Some specialty units or smart units may require the assistance of a manufacturer-approved technician. Oven issues can be more challenging to diagnose than other appliances in the home because many of the parts are difficult to access for inspection or replacement. Some common oven repairs involve replacing damaged burners, heating coils, or electric cables. Purchasing additional parts, such as a new heating coil may also increase the total repair cost.
