"We had a concrete walkway that had sunk and became a trip hazard. Removing and replacing the concrete would have been more costly and inconvenient than the lift Saber did and the work exceeded expectations. I'm thoroughly pleased and highly recommend Saber to others!"

Small jobs welcome

"Mariano, who is also MB Concrete, did an amazing job. They removed a mature queen palm, hauled away all material and debris after demo and poured a great slab to extend my patio by a few hundred square feet! This was a pro job! Dump and bobcat, concrete truck, you name it! Rebar was tied into the existing slab and it looks like it was part of the original pour! I’d hire them again!"

"Ecr concrete was great! Contacted me promptly and came out next day to inspect and estimate. I had some drainage issues and Ernesto recognized them right away and had a plan to rectify. ECR was able to fit my job in the following week and everything went very smoothly! The guys kept the job site clean and did a great job at a reasonable price, I will definitely be using and recommending them in the future, Thanks ECR!"

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

In Encinitas, new homeowners should start by checking driveways, walkways, and patios for cracks wider than ¼ inch, especially after winter rains. Pay close attention to areas shaded by local vegetation, as roots from native plants like eucalyptus can lift slabs. Inspect the foundation perimeter for moisture intrusion, especially in coastal neighborhoods. Prioritize repairs that address trip hazards, uneven surfaces, or drainage issues before the next rainy season.

Helpful?

In Encinitas, homeowners should inspect concrete surfaces each spring for new cracks caused by winter rains and shifting soil. During summer, clean and reseal driveways and patios to protect against salt air and intense sun. In fall, remove debris from expansion joints and check for root intrusion from local trees. Winter is ideal for monitoring pooling water and documenting any changes with photos for future reference.

Helpful?

For minor cracks under ¼ inch in Encinitas, sweep away debris and use a concrete crack filler designed for coastal environments. Clean surfaces with a mild detergent and water, then patch small chips with a concrete compound. Always wear gloves, eye protection, and a mask when handling repair materials. If you notice uneven settling, cracks near utilities, or recurring moisture, contact a local professional for assessment.

Helpful?

Homes in Encinitas are good candidates for concrete repair if they have stable, well-drained soil and concrete surfaces free from severe spalling or deep structural cracks. Properties built after 1990 or recently updated often have better reinforcement against coastal weather. If you see multiple surface cracks, minor settling, or salt damage, timely repairs can prevent further deterioration and help maintain your property’s value in the local market.

Helpful?

In Encinitas, hidden costs during concrete repair often arise from the need for soil stabilization due to sandy or expansive soils common in the area. Coastal conditions may require specialized concrete mixes to resist salt air, and access challenges in hillside neighborhoods can increase labor. Uncovering previous patchwork or discovering corroded rebar beneath the surface can also lead to more extensive slab repair or concrete resurfacing than initially expected.
