"I had three companies come to make bids on adding a whole house air filter to my Heating and AC system... Bob Jenson was the only one that actually listened to me, the only one that looked at my whole set-up in the whole house and attic, and therefore the only one that found problems that needed to be fixed and that when fixed would improve the air quality in my home. As a result I do not need the whole house air filter system and I saved A LOT of money. I immediately switched ALL my heating and AC work to Bob Jenson even though I have been with another well-known local company for over 20 years (they did not listen well either, did not see the problems that needed fixing, most of which had been caused by them in the first place, and offered a multi-thousand-dollar bid for a whole house system.) The work included replacing registers in three rooms, encasing a big pipe in my furnace that was shedding fiberglass from insulation right into my air system, and other small issues that are too many to mention here. One week later, in a completely unrelated manner, my AC stopped working. Bob Jenson was able to send someone the next day even though they were booked, and that person first thought I needed a new pump but then discovered a clogged tube that he used tanked oxygen to clear, and he solved my problem. Again, excellent diagnostics and lots of patience. All the Bob Jenson staff and workers whom I have interacted with and who did the work at my house were exceedingly professional, punctual, neat, thoughtful, and smart."

"Michael was knowledgeable and very informative. The installers were competent, outstanding, and courteous. Aire Care’s bid was more budget friendly compared to other major local companies. The crew promised to get installation done in 2.5 days but completed the work in 2 days with an additional install. All in all, we would go with AireCare Heating and Air any day. We highly recommend AireCare Heating and Air."

"I had used Ed before with my other house. I recently hired him to clean the dryer duct at my other house. When he moved the dryer, he saw that there was a lot of lint in the body of the dryer (a fire hazard). Because he could access it, he cleaned it all out as well as the duct. The air flow is perfect. I recommend Ed and Air Duct Professionals highly. I have used his company two times, and I am extremely satisfied."

"Technician Angel came on time. He first cleaned our HVAC unit, checked the wirings & parts & performed tests to ensure the unit is running according to standards. He inspected the Air ducts, vents even the attic. He explained everything and showed us the pictures that he took & the results on HVAC heating and cooling tests that were done. Overall a very good job done by Technician Angel I told him to come back after 6 months. Already recommended Airtime Heating & Cooling to my neighbor. 5 STARS"

"Very pleased with professionalism, quality and price. James, Keith and Quincy completed Al elements of heat and air new installation on time and to specifications. They communicated with us well about every step of the process. It was nice to have someone come into the home and just complete the work without any issues. Owner Michael was very clear without sales hype. Strong background and understanding of home needs."

"Pat and Tom installed a 5 ton heating and AC unit in my garage/workshop, last summer, and now I can make saw dust 7/24 all week long. Their work was exceptional. Service after installation was done without question. Pat replaced a part in my electrical panel that was defective. Professionalism, installation was exactly what I needed, based upon the size of the garage/workshop area I work in. Service after installation was right on. I would highly recommend R&C heating and air, without question."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

When first installed, flex ducts shouldn’t cause airflow problems in your home. However, because flex ducts aren’t the sturdiest and require extra support, they lose their durability over time and begin to sag, which can inhibit airflow down the road. Also, if your flex ducts aren’t tight enough, your HVAC could work twice as hard for the same air pressure. If you’re worried about the airflow in your home, a rigid duct may be your best bet.

No, you don’t need a ductless unit in every room. Ductless AC units don't work the way that window units do, where the air doesn't travel outside that room. The indoor air handlers all attach to the outdoor condenser. While the air doesn't travel the way that traditional ductwork would, the ductless AC units create zones so that one part of the home can be cooler than another. They can spread effectively enough that indoor units only need to be placed in main living areas.

If your HVAC system's capacity doesn't match the required CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute), imbalances can occur. An undersized system struggles to maintain desired temperatures, leading to discomfort. An oversized system might short-cycle, wasting energy and causing temperature fluctuations. Properly matching capacity to CFM ensures efficient and consistent heating, cooling, and home ventilation system performance.

While most air conditioners can last between 10 and 20 years, they will only last this long (or longer) if properly taken care of. Routine maintenance and inspections help keep your AC unit running in tip-top shape but understanding what factors will decrease its lifespan will also help keep your unit running cool.

Some things that shorten your AC’s lifespan include:

  • Extreme outdoor conditions, like high humidity or extensive salt spray

  • Improper installation

  • Extended run times, either by the unit being too small or the thermostat setting too low

  • Not performing required maintenance

Yes, a dirty air filter can cause a higher electric bill. That’s because clogged filters make it harder for air to flow through your HVAC system, which forces it to work harder and use more energy. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, replacing dirty filters can save you between 5% and 15% in utility costs.
