Small jobs welcome

"Alex was right on time, did a great job cleaning out the lint, even removed his shoes before entering the house, which I did not request him to do. We were very pleased with the service and will certainly do this again next year."

"Albert Nahman PHC installed new AC and Furnace for my house. I like them for several reasons -- 1. At first Tom explained in detail what equipment I need and how they work, and gave me a reasonable and detailed quote at end of the visit. 2. They offer interest free finance. 3. I got free upgrade for furnace when the original quoted is not available. 4. Their installer did good job, and cleaned up afterward. I highly recommend this company."

"These guys are just excellent! I made a few mistakes before I got lucky to find New Millennium HVAC. They were professional from the beginning to the end. Jose did a thorough job, cleaning the dryer vent. It was not a straightforward issue and I was afraid that we’d have to open the wall to cure the blockage. However, Jose was able to fix it. He’s an experienced professional excellent at his job, trustworthy and overall great to deal with. I’m a happy customer for years now and will rely on these guys for any HVAC related issues."

"Antonio did a fantastic job. He cleaned every HVAC vent and ducting, the dryer vent and replaced the ducting between the dryer and the wall connection, all bathroom exhaust vents and the furnace blower and exchanger. Super clean. I was amazed on how much crud cam our of our systems. Excellent attention to details."

"We had a vent cleaning and disinfecting job that SVAE — Matias and his crew — handled thoroughly and professionally. We would recommend SVAE for any and all air system projects of any size and scope. We initially contacted SVAE for a simple, routine cleaning. After describing our needs and goals over the phone to Matias, he immediately identified the core issues. He promptly scheduled a consultation and was able to meet us within a few days of my inquiry. Matias was incredibly thorough, diligent and professional with his assessment of the issues. He inspected our vents and crawl space and even took pictures and videos to document the issues. We were fortunate that Matias was able to fit us into his busy schedule to address our concerns within a little over a week of our consultation. We are so pleased with the final work and we are incredibly grateful to SVAE for taking good care of us!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The cost of annual maintenance depends on the type of HVAC system you have. AC service typically costs an average of $200 but ranges from $100 to $550. If your system needs repairs, the price will vary significantly depending on what needs fixing. However, addressing the issues as they arise can prevent further damage to your unit and keep it operating efficiently for much longer.

Yes, you can clean AC coils yourself. Just make sure that the power to your AC system is off before you begin. You’ll need some basic tools and supplies, including a soft brush, cloth, screwdriver, and a commercial or homemade cleaning solution. Cleaning your coils will only cost about $10.

Mold in your air conditioner isn't a good thing, as it can be harmful to your health. If the mold travels through the ductwork or is blown out of the A/C, you and your family can inhale mold spores and develop respiratory illnesses and other problems. Preventing mold from growing in the air conditioner will help protect your health.

Deciding whether to replace just the AC coil or the entire system depends on the age of your unit and the overall cost. Replacing a coil is less expensive than a full system replacement, but it can still be a pricey repair. If your HVAC system is relatively new and still under warranty, or if the replacement cost is significantly lower than a new system, replacing the coil can be a worthwhile investment that restores efficiency and extends the unit's life. However, for older systems (nearing the end of their 10-15 year lifespan) or those with extensive damage, it is often more cost-effective to replace the entire AC unit. Mismatched coils in an older system can lead to inefficiency and future breakdowns, so a full replacement ensures optimal performance and avoids further costly repairs.

To keep your air conditioner in good working condition, you should have it serviced by a professional at least once per year, ideally in the spring before the cooling season begins. If your AC unit is 10 years or older, consider servicing it twice a year (once in the spring and once in the fall) to catch potential problems early and help it reach its full lifespan. During a service visit, a technician will inspect, clean, and replace parts as needed. Regular maintenance helps avoid costly repairs. As a DIY task, you can also clean the evaporator coils annually.
