"Fantastic! I made an appointment with Brian for the following week. He called when he was on his way and arrived exactly when expected. He quickly figured out what was wrong and gave me an estimate. After I gave the approval to proceed he ordered the part and gave me an expected delivery and installation. He came back the next week and installed the new fan. He did everything exactly as expected. I really appreciated his focus on telling me what to expect and and when and he kept his commitments. I am very satisfied with his work and price. I now know why he has so many excellent reviews. He has earned them and I'm happy to add to the list."

"I would like to take a moment to commend Ricky Aroz, Blair Heating and Air, for his outstanding customer service. On March 31, 2017, I required a replacement air conditioning unit.  I had just lost my husband and was under incredible stress.  Ricky Oroz not only professionally replaced the air conditioning unit, but his excellent customer service and compassion put me at great ease.  If I could, I would give him 10 out of 5 Stars for his customer service.  Ask for Ricky Oroz at Blair Heating and Air if you ever need an air conditioning professional. Thanks again Ricky! Sincerely, Darlene Lacy"

Thermostat screen went blank-furnace and A/C wouldn't come on

Chris arrived within 1 hour of my call and checked the furnace first. He found a blown fuse and no power to low voltage wires inside the unit. He then checked the thermostat and found it was no longer working. Chris replaced the fuses and the thermostat with a similar unit and tested the entire system. He then checked my A/C unit for Freon levels and found and repaired a wire that had come loose.

Chris was very pleasant to work with and explained what he was checking and why as he went along. He explained how the new thermostat worked and provided me with both the installation and operating manuals. Great service!

"When they came to the house, they were very honest.  I had a plumbing problem that they could’ve easily told me you need to do it now, but they really worked with me and kind of advised me on what I need to do long-term if I couldn’t do the work now and it worked and helped me save a bundle of money.  The quality of the work have always been great."

"When I called at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday morning, he answered promptly and a technician was at my house in 20 minutes.  Dave testing everything, trying to determine what it was and what it wasn't.  He patiently answered all my questions while he worked.  Jim came about 20 minutes later and helped determine it was the compressor that has seized (it kept tripping the control panel) and needed to be replaced.  Jim gave me two options and said I could let him know when I was ready to proceed.  I called him later that day and asked him to install a new 5 ton A/C unit.  Jim and Dave arrived the next morning at 8:30 a.m. and installed the new unit, checked the furnace in the attic, and were done by 1:00.  They were professional, competent and speedy...and friendly too.  Thanks Guys!"

"I did not use them because what they said was - the $45 - they came out and they wanted to charge me I think it was close to $500 to simply install a garbage disposal that I already had purchased.? The estimate was extremely high and I said no thank you.? I'm not happy with them at all.? Their estimate was fine; it was just out of sight.? The price was outrageous."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

The absence of heating or hot water, unusual noises like banging or gurgling, and visible water leakage are key signs. Abnormal boiler pressure, flame irregularities (for gas boilers), or pilot light issues may also signal trouble. Frequent cycling, soot or staining, and unusual odors, particularly gas-like smells, should not be ignored. Modern boilers often display error codes or lockout mode upon detecting issues. Uneven heating across radiators and rising energy bills without increased usage can further point to problems. Prompt attention to these signs is essential to prevent further damage and ensure safety.

Hydronic and standard electric baseboard heaters differ in how they operate, their cost, and their performance. Standard convection heaters use electric coils to heat the air directly, while hydronic heaters warm a contained liquid like water or oil, which then radiates heat into the room.

In terms of cost and efficiency, hydronic heaters usually have a higher upfront price but are more energy-efficient and cheaper to run over time. This is because the heated liquid retains warmth, allowing the heater to continue providing heat for a while after the thermostat turns it off. In contrast, electric heaters provide heat more quickly but are less efficient.

Ultimately, the better choice depends on your priorities. If you need a room to heat up fast and have a lower initial budget, an electric heater might be suitable. If long-term energy savings are more important and you don't mind a slower heat-up time, a hydronic heater is likely the better option.

If you want a new boiler that’s going to help lower your fuel bills, you should buy one that has a high energy-efficiency rating. For example, a boiler that is rated “A” uses at least 90% of the energy created by the boiler. And in order to enjoy the best performance, it’s important to have it installed properly by a highly-rated tech.

The most important sign of a boiler problem is something happening unexpectedly, which is why regular boiler maintenance is important. Unexpected problems can include strange smells, new leaks, and unexpected noises that your boiler wasn’t making before. Additionally, if a boiler keeps shutting off or can’t maintain a specific temperature range, it’s time to call in an expert.

If your boiler is 20 years old, it’s time to get a new one. Although it may seem to be working fine, it’s likely eating up more fuel than it should. Also, compared to a brand-new boiler, one that’s 20 years old is probably not working as well. When you get your new unit, you’ll notice that your home is heating more quickly, and the heat is consistent throughout all the rooms.
