"Mike is one of the most pleasant people I've met. He called to say he was ahead of schedule and asked if he could come early. Worked for me! He had also sent an email after my initial call to confirm the original appointment time, which I appreciated. He showed up in a top hat (or is it a stovepipe hat?), which was a wonderfully whimsical touch that further demonstrated his commitment to his profession. He laid down heavy duty cloths to protect the flooring before cleaning the fireplace. He cleaned from both inside and outside, going on the roof to clean the chimney. It about an hour. It is nice to deal with people who know their business, do it efficiently and with genuine friendliness. We'll feel safer now that any creosote buildup has been removed. He even removed the ash and residual wood from our last fire and left not one speck of anything on the hearth. We are looking forward to the next cold night! Thanks, Mike!"

They first excavated, installed a compacted gravel base, and added rebar before framing everything out. Drainage slope was included so water doesn't pool, and they ensured utilities could run through conduit before the pour. The slab was finished with a smooth surface since it will later be tiled. Permits were pulled in advance, and city inspectors signed off at every stage. The process took a few weeks, and the space is now ready for the kitchen installation. The precision in layout and attention to detail stood out to me. It feels like we've got a reliable foundation for years of outdoor use."
