"Fausto Construction is awesome. My wife and I were looking to renovate our bathroom and spent days looking for someone we can trust. We heard of Fausto Construction from a friend. Saul guided us through the process, provided cost information, current trends, options all in a cost effective manner. During the construction phase, he kept us updated, requested our feedback and made sure we were fully satisfied. The project was beautifully finished ahead of schedule. Now we are enjoying our brand new walk-in shower bathroom. We definitely recommend Fausto Construction."

"Didi was our initial contact. After a long conversation we felt good about his company. They came out within a couple days to give us a quote and we started our remodel the following month.⠨⠨ Our project manager was Didi and Alex and they both had great communication as well as always returning our calls and providing guidance. Didi has a great selection of workers. They were all very professional and polite. Didi was very detailed and diligent in overseeing the work. Our kitchen and baths turned out beautiful and the completion was approved by the city inspector without any delays. The remodel was completed on schedule and it turned out beautiful."

"I had a window that was leaking and did not know who to go to for fixing this issue. I found Level Up Contracting through Angi's list. They came and surveyed the problem area. The problem lied behind the drywall and Al told me what work was needed to investigate the issue and repair it. He walked me through the process and quoted me a fair cost for the job. Throughout the repair work he provided updates and what materials he needed to completed the work. Al provided excellent customer service and was very pleasant to talk to. I am very satisfied with his work and craftmanship."

Tub Shower Conversion questions, answered by experts

You should replace your shower cartridge if it’s still dripping water after you turn off the shower. This is the most common way to know when the cartridge is past its prime, but there are other signs. If you have a hard time turning the shower handle, as though it's "stuck," it may be time to replace it. On the flip side, if it turns way too easily as though it's slipping, but water isn't coming out of the showerhead, you may need a new one.

Walk-in showers aren’t necessarily better. It depends on your circumstances. On the one hand, they’re more accessible—especially for people who use a wheelchair. They also take up less space than bathtubs and are ideal for small bathrooms. On the other hand, some families may need a bathtub to bathe young children and pets.

Adding another bathroom isn’t the most complicated project you can undertake, but it’s in the top 5%. Anything involving plumbing and electrical work should be handed off to a pro, and adding a half bath involves both. A contractor may charge $70 to $120 an hour for labor, but chances are they can work much faster and more accurately than a DIYer.

If you are in the market for a new showerhead, consider investing in a metal option rather than plastic. Metal showerheads are more durable and long-lasting, and bacteria tend to survive and grow better on plastic. Besides the materials, what works best for you will depend on personal preference. Maybe you would prefer a showerhead with as many settings as possible, or you would like a handheld one.

The amount of space needed depends on the size of the shower. For the standard 32-by-32-inch walk-in shower, you’ll need about 50 square inches. The International Residential Code requires a minimum of 24 inches of space in front of a walk-in shower’s entrance. That said, the National Kitchen & Bath Association recommends 30 inches of clearance, which is a bit more comfortable for most people.

Ideally, you’ll have enough room to open your doors and cabinets without interfering with your shower. This may not be possible in a smaller bathroom.
