"Sergio arrived right when he was scheduled.  He made the needed repairs and installed the new equipment very quickly.  He left the place looking better than when he arrived. We are very pleased with the work that he did. A skillful plumber that is neat, organized and delightfully customer friendly - Sergio is a great asset to his company.  Sun City Mechanical gets an A+.

"Called Bill and he was out within an hour to come and fix my problem. The kitchen sink was leaking underneath. He unclogged the drain and replaced some parts. Then tested to make sure it was not leaking."

"

Cleaned out a sink in a 50 year old house.  Checked with office on cost of changing out the faucet (which was reasonable) and had replace the u-pipe or trap because it was in poor condition.

The plumber was willing to do an extra job and the office was very accommodating,

The plumbing in an older house can be tricky to work on; this plumber understood the problems and was careful with the old pipes!

"We still use them.  It wasn't a perfect installation; we ended up having a leak and some water damage, but they covered it.  They did respond pretty well to the problem; their response was good.  Even though we ran into a problem, their responsiveness was good enough that I continue to use them.  They're very nice and I use them once a year."

"I had bought 2 garbage containers from Ace hardware.  The old ones were in poor condition and needed to be replaced.  Michael picked up the new containers from the store and and delivered them to my home.  He accessed the jobs that I had listed and completed the inside work first, which included adjusting several loose cabinet doors.  He also put a heavy sliding door which had slipped, back on its track.
Then he went outside and removed the old trash containers and replaced them with the new ones.  He offered to haul the old ones away, which I was glad to him do.  Michael is professional, polite and very neat and competent with his work.  His prices are very reasonable.  I highly recommend him and will be calling him the next time I need maintenance work done in our home."

"We were very pleased with Adam's punctuality, professionalism, flexibility and attention to detail.  He installed our new kitchen faucet and then helped us with a couple other things.  Most notably, he diagnosed our smelly shower drain and went and purchased an automatically closing drain cover.  After installing it, we discovered that the water would drain too slow for our needs and he deinstalled it, all at no additional cost to us.  We appreciated his attempt and helping us understand what else we could do to avoid the smelly drain.  We finally have a plumber we can trust!

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

There are many maintenance and repair issues that lead to a malfunctioning garbage disposal. Regular clogs place wear and tear on the motors, leading to an eventual shutdown. Electrical issues at the breaker, wall outlet, or disposal itself can fry the unit. The most common cause is simply a worn-down motor. These motors can only handle so much use before powering down for good.

On average, it takes one to four hours for a professional to install a garbage disposal. This includes removing the old unit, taking necessary measurements for positioning, removing and fitting new pipes, and installing the brand-new disposal system. If there are unforeseen issues, such as accessibility concerns, the process takes longer.

In some cases, it’s more cost-effective in the long run to replace a garbage disposal, but it depends on the specific issue you’re having and the age of your disposal. You should ask a garbage disposal repair tech for a quote to repair your appliance and then see if it would be more worthwhile to replace it. Additionally, garbage disposals last for around 15 years, so if you know your appliance is reaching that age, it’s likely better to pay for a new garbage disposal rather than sink money into repairs.

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.

If the cost of repairing a leaking garbage disposal is close to the cost of replacing the disposal, then fixing the unit might not make sense. When deciding if you should repair or replace your garbage disposal, consider the age of your garbage disposal, the cost of the repair, and whether your garbage disposal has had other problems recently to help you decide if the cost of repairing the leak is better than the cost of replacing the disposal.
