"American Home Shield (AHS) warranty is replacing my broken microwave with a new one. I received the new microwave on 11/11/2020 and notified AHS it was in my possession. Part of the warranty contract includes the installation of the new microwave. AHS typically assigns contractors themselves. However, this time AHS contracted with C & R Services with a dispatch number on 11/13/2020 for C & R to assign a local contractor to do the install. After two weeks of waiting and not being contacted by C & R or a contractor, I called C & R to follow up on the status. They said it would be 1 to 2 weeks from the date they received the dispatch from AHS. I informed them it had been 2 weeks in which they replied that it would be another 2 weeks. As of today, 12/11/2020, 4 weeks from the date C & R received the dispatch, I have not been contacted by C & R or a contractor. C & R's lack of communication and customer service is absurd. AHS informed me that they do not have any authority over C & R."

"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. Repairing an AC unit is usually more cost-effective than replacing it, but you should consider the age of your system. Most central AC units last around 15 years, and window units last for between eight and 10 years. If your central AC is more than 10 years old or your window AC is over six years old, you should consider replacing the AC unit rather than repairing it. The repair will fix your issue, but you’ll likely save money in the long run by replacing it rather than repairing it only to replace it a few years later.

If your refrigerator is more than 15 years old, it probably needs to be replaced, and it makes more sense to replace over repair. A new fridge costs $1,000 to $4,000 or more. If you have a newer fridge, it’s worth spending a couple hundred dollars on a repair to make it last several more years. Repairing an older fridge might not yield much in the way of useful life. You can always ask your repair technician if it makes more sense to replace your fridge rather than repair it.

You might need to install a new outlet if there isn’t one already located within 5 feet of the hot tub or if the current outlet you have installed and plan to use with the hot tub isn’t sufficient to carry the required electrical load.
