"Alberto and Angel were great. They came and we discussed what I wanted, measured it out, gave me an estimate , and started work as soon as their schedule was open. (which wasn't long before they started). They kept in contact on progress, as I was out of town. The fencing is high quality work. The use of metal support poles was a surprise to me but what a great idea. (Made the fence even more secure). I had a small problem with a gap at the bottom that allowed outside critters( skunks) to get in my yard. Gave them a call and they came over and was able to lower the fence down which helped a lot. Friendly, helpful company I would recommend highly."

"Cannot recommend Phelps Precision Innovations LLC enough. They did a complete overhaul of our newly acquired and previously poorly maintained log cabin. It looks brand new but with the same authentic log cabin character Greer is known for. Loren & Titus are conscientious and do the job the right way without any shortcuts. They are easy to work with, have great communication and are talented in construction and remodeling. I am beyond pleased and could not ask for anything more!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The depth of the fence posts depends on the height of your fence. If you’re installing a 6-foot fence, then digging 2-foot-deep holes for the fence posts will help ensure a secure installation. However, if you’re installing an 8-foot fence, the posts will need to be deeper than 2 feet to support the structure properly. Also, consider how far apart the fence posts should be to provide adequate support.

Regular cleaning, rust-proof coatings, and checking fasteners help prolong the lifespan.

The most affordable metal fence type is wire at just $3 to $5 per linear foot. Wire fences come in a variety of styles and do a good job of marking perimeters and keeping animals in or out of certain areas. While they’re very easy to install and repair, many homeowners find them unattractive, and many homeowners associations won’t allow them.

When deciding between fence post foam and concrete, the best choice depends on your specific needs and priorities. Concrete is generally considered stronger and more durable, making it the preferred option for heavy, load-bearing posts. However, expanding foam offers several advantages, such as being more eco-friendly and curing much faster. For smaller fences or those made with lighter materials like vinyl or wire mesh, post foam is a good alternative. While concrete is more affordable, it is also harder to work with and has a longer curing time.

A horizontal fence is typically more expensive to build than a vertical fence, often costing between 10% and 20% more. The higher cost is due to the need for a higher grade of lumber and more posts to prevent the boards from sagging, which increases both material and labor expenses. Despite the higher price, horizontal fences tend to be more durable and offer a more distinct, modern look compared to the more common vertical picket style. However, they may not be the best option for privacy, as there can be slight gaps between the horizontal rails.
