"They were prompt, efficient and courteous. They called to let me know they were on their way and cleaned up everything when they were done. They were supposed to explain something to me about some monitor after the installation, but they forgot. They did walk through how to do the radon test in another week. they also gave me a senior discount, which was definitely appreciated. Otherwise, their pricing was pretty much in the range with the other estimates I received."

Through hands on experience over the years,I’ve developed strong knowledge and skills in asbestos abatement, demolition , and environmental services. As a young business owner, I take pride in building something of my own while continuing the foundation my father started. "Dustin Anderson, owner of Advanced Drying, came to our house to look for possible mold after HERTSMI testing revealed the presence of a specific type that could be causing health issues for me. Dustin came highly recommended from several people who have similar sensitivities to mold. He was clearly well versed in the subject matter and it was apparent that he is genuinely motivated by helping people with these sensitivities, even if it means his services are not needed. He took the time to answer all of our many questions. Because further testing must be done to determine what remediation would entail, we did not talk about cost. I can't therefore speak to how that might compare to others who offer similar services. What I can tell you is that I was very impressed. I can't imagine finding someone whom I felt more confident in as far as their knowledge and integrity. I am grateful to him for his generosity in time and for the direction he gave in how to proceed. I would absolutely recommend him without hesitation.

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

The cost to replace a radon fan ranges from $300 to $600 for the fan itself, with installation adding an additional $200 to $500. Overall, the total cost for replacement can range from $500 to $1,100, depending on factors such as the fan model, home size, and local labor rates. If the fan is part of a larger radon mitigation system, the price may be higher.

Yes, many systems include warranties for performance. Confirm terms with your installer.

If your home has a sump pit, you can integrate it with a radon mitigation system. You can accomplish this by sealing the pump cover with an airtight lid that accommodates radon vent pipes and sump pump hoses. This allows the vent pipe to redirect the radon gas outside of your home.

Ideally, no one will live in a house with elevated radon levels, as prolonged exposure increases the risk of serious health issues like lung cancer. However, homes with radon can be made safe through mitigation systems, such as active soil depressurization. Testing for radon regularly and addressing high levels helps ensure a safe living environment.

Radon is the number one non-smoking cause of lung cancer in the United States, but it can cause some other concerning side effects in the meantime. If you have a raspy voice, chest pains, trouble breathing, difficulty swallowing, or any of the above, don’t hesitate to perform radon testing and install a mitigation system as soon as possible.
