Donley Service CenterDonley has been servicing our AC’s for many years. After our semiannual checkup, a wine cooling unit stopped working. They came over the weekend to discover it needed a new part. The store didn’t open for several days. Donley had the store open at 9pm on a Saturday to get the part. Tony, the service technician, spent many hours in the middle of the night fixing the AC. They didn’t charge us anything. There is simply no better AC service company in Phoenix. There isn’t a better service company of any type in Phoenix. All systems were in before that and they kept them in good shape, but rather than waiting for a JULY breakdown we were pro active in replacing the whole thing.We got 4 quotes and they were all over the place. We chose Howard for a number of reasons: Hector ,the salesperson was very professional and thorough in his presentation.also we were satisfied with all our prior work with them. We agreed with their quote(even though it was above the other contractors because quality and reputation counts as well as $. They scheduled install and the crew was right on time and finished in 1 day. Hector came over to inspect and we found a few very minor issues. The repairs were finish in a timely fashion and personable staff was on sight and helpful. They were thorough with their explanations. A good company with good recommendations goes far with me. Of course I tried doing the normal stuff like removing the plumbing under the sink but that wasn't the problem. Bryant snaked the outside service access and that did the trick. Choice Home WarrantyOf course, we didn't know what the problem was except that our air conditioning stopped working at the end of the day on a Thursday, and with 99F outdoor. We placed the claim online (super easy) and the next morning before noon it was already repaired by a very friendly and professional technician. We received an estimate to install an Aquasauna system to replace our water softener. The quote was for $669, which was verbal, never provided in writing. I showed the technician the exact system we purchased from our actual order which is: Rhino® 600,000 Gallons with Salt-Free Water Conditioner I was concerned that the estimate was never provided in writing, so I emailed in order to confirm the exact estimate. We scheduled a time for the work to be done, 3 hours into the appointment window with no one showing up, we called and were told the appointment was never actually scheduled. That was frustrating, but mistakes happen. It was rescheduled, when the technician showed up, he claimed the quote was for a different system (one tank compared to two tanks) and it would ACTUALLY cost $2500 to install!! How is it possible the install quote increased by almost 4x? There is NO way the actual install times takes four times as long. We were quoted almost the exact same amount from a competitor for the install AND provide the Aquasauna system (which we paid $1400 for). So, let's see. Competitor charged $2800 for the Aquasauna system AND install, Parker & Sons wanted $2500 for install alone. The install takes, at most, 3 hours. So, Parker & Sons is charging $833/hour. Even the best lawyers don't make that much! I'm still flabbergasted that they're charging almost 4 times the labor time for what might take an additional 30 minutes to an hour (at most). We're having the work done for $600 from another company.
