"I conducted a lot of research prior to hiring Air Factor, and obtained bids from 6 different contractors. Air Factor was the ONLY company to calculate the size of my home to determine the appropriate size of the AC unit to properly cool my home. They were VERY thorough on the initial visit - spending 2 hours with me. Tim had a great presentation put together, including reviews from customers, insurance information, and BBB ratings/reviews (ZERO complaints by the way). The detailed information he provided built trust in the contractor. I would use them again in a heartbeat, and will definitely recommend them to my friends and family."

"I am a homeowner who is out of state. Gerardo was extremely proactive and responsive when I called him. Within two hours he had done an assessment and provided me a quote that was 15% lower than the next best quote (I had received from another company). Within a day his team had installed the hvac system and had it operational. I highly recommend Sun Devil heating and cooling."

"After a sleepless night (too hot) with little AC, I put in a request for AC service with Angi. Within seconds of completing my request, one hour Heating and Air Conditioning reached out. I scheduled service for a few hours later that same day. Cody came out and worked on the system for around two hours to resolve our issue. He stayed long enough to insure the system was working as it should. Upon completion I was expecting a fairly large bill for the service but was delighted to find I could sign up for regular service for a small fee. Everything is working great and we are happy and Cool!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Dry mode positively impacts indoor air quality by reducing excess moisture, which stops the growth of mold and mildew. By maintaining optimal humidity levels, dry mode creates a less hospitable environment for allergens and airborne pathogens, improving overall air quality. However, it's essential to ensure proper ventilation to prevent stale air accumulation.

Yesh, heat pumps can easily cool homes when the weather reaches over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, just as powerful air conditioners can. The key is sizing the heat pump correctly for the size of your home and your climate. A local heat  pump professional can help you determine the right size and type for your home.

While 72 degrees is a comfortable setting for many people, it’s likely not the most efficient temperature setting for your air conditioning unit. By pushing the temperature up to 75 or 78 degrees, you stand to save money on your energy bill. That said, these temperatures may be too warm to be comfortable for some people and are definitely too warm for most people to sleep comfortably.

If you’re planning an AC replacement, choosing an AC with a higher SEER rating may save you money in the long run. Tax credits could cover as much as 30% of the job, and you’ll notice smaller utility bills (particularly if you live in a hot climate where you need to constantly run the AC). Generally, you can expect to pay between $350 and $1,500 for each SEER rating increase. Weigh the cost against your typical utility bill to figure out what’s worth it to you.

Here’s how AC professionals will clean your AC coils:

  1. Unplug the AC unit or turn off the breaker to the unit in your circuit breaker box.

  2. Remove the faceplate.

  3. Spray a vacuum hose attachment or compressed air can to remove debris, dust, dirt, and grime.

  4. Use a soft-bristled fin comb to remove stubborn caked-on debris.

  5. Use the vacuum hose to suck up any extra debris.

  6. Take a coil-safe cleaning solution and spray it onto the coils. Try to choose a no-rinse solution.

  7. Let the solution sit for at least 15 minutes.

  8. Gently wipe away loosened grime and debris with a microfiber cloth.

  9. Reattach the faceplate, plug in your AC system, or turn the breaker back on.
