"Scott came out on short notice and was very professional and had my Vesta Softener installed and running in minimal time. I am very pleased with the system so far and given Scott & Zak's kind, courteous, non-pushy nature, I am convinced if I ever had any issues or needed help, both of them would be "Johnny-on-the-spot" and would step up to help me out. I highly recommend these guys for anyone needing a water softener, RO System or just advice for their water needs."

"A Most Fortuitous Meeting at Ace hardware to remove what turns out to be a fused water hose attached to the outdoor hose bib. We have a lovely home there in AZ that we rent out to mostly to Snowbirds wanting to escape their cold Eastern snow filled Winters. Jacob, Thanks ð for helping me with that stiff cruddy looking water hose there in the backyard. In the past had Attempted unsuccessfully to untwist by hand that water hose from the hose bib. This time was determined and wanting To get a better grip.. went and bought a pair of Ace wrenches to tackle the job MYSELF. I was determined to finally replace that unsightly mess with a new windup hose reel set-up before heading back home in CA. Thatâ s when I met Jacob a total stranger Standing in line overhearing my conversation who turns out to own a Plumbing Co. From that point decided to hire him to do the job. Talk about a God sent moment. Had we Not met at Ace, Iâ m sure Iâ d still be there in AZ right now : along with 2 stupid brand new wrenches in my hands, a panic ð ± look and a flooding house to show for all my effort. Initially using wrenches He tried to untwist the hose from the bib but concluded a new bib would be needed as the water hose was fused to the house bib. Thanks for removing the old water hose/ bib combination and soldering a new hose bib in its place. Jacob I truly ð thank you for saving the day that was gonna turn out ð © poorly and very costly. "Let me begin by saying I never write reviews, but I wanted to share my wonderful experience with Aquaco, LLC. After sitting down with several water softening companies my husband and I, we are retired military, decided to go with Aquaco, LLC. We dealt directly with the companyâ s owner Glenn, who was very knowledgeable and informative. Glenn is such a pleasure, he has a great sense of humor, which we could all use coming out of the year we all just had. He answered all our questions and the cost/warranty of the units cannot be beat, so the only thing left was to schedule. Fast and efficient service, and once the units are installed they begin to make a world of difference in your life, everything changes. The installation went quickly and neatly. The installers ( Fidel and Jorge) were friendly, professional and they go over everything with you. The Water Softener has honestly made our shower feel like a spa. My itchy, dry skin is a thing of the past, my skin feels healthier and more vibrant. The Filtration System has remarkably improved our drinking water and the clear ice cubes are great, no more bottled water. We now have peace of mind about our homes pipes and plumbing. Thereâ s the obvious advantages like making housework easier, sparkling shower doors, sparkling dishes, cleaner clothes and all in all saving us money in the long run. We highly recommend Aquaco LLC. Thanks so much for superb work!"

"I recently had an issue with my water heater diagnosed by my kids complaining of cold water! I called Bluefrog Plumbing and Drain of Gilbert. They were over within 1 hour and did a thorough inspection of the tank. They quickly diagnosed the issue and with just a $25 part, we had hot water. They could have easily said we needed new elements or even a new tank - but the did not. The were honest, prompt, clean, nice and easy to deal with. I will be using them for all of my plumbing needs from here on out!! I will be giving them five stars!!!!"

"Great! I contacted Rich for options on a water softener. He provided the quotes and information that I needed without high sales pressure. When he came to my home to install, I found him to be knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. He took the time to explain things to me and to look at other potential plumbing needs. His service was offered at a fair and reasonable price. While I hope not to need a plumber too often, I will call him again."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Yes. To get soft water, you can install a water softening system, which will replace the calcium and magnesium ions in the water with sodium or potassium ions. Water softeners cost anywhere from $200 to $6,000, depending on the size and complexity of the system. You can either install a water softener for the whole house or just at your shower heads. If you’re sensitive to sodium or potassium, you can install a salt-free water conditioner.

If your ‘do isn’t doing what you want it to do despite using good hair care products, hard water might be to blame. Since hard water can’t rinse soap off as well as soft water can, your hair might grow limp because of the shampoo and conditioner residue that’s left behind. If you color your hair, you might see it fade more quickly or even turn a different shade as the dye reacts with the minerals in the water. You might also experience an itchy scalp, thanks to the dryness that comes from bathing in the hard water.

You can decide whether you need a water softener or water filter based on how your bathing or laundry experience is. If you notice issues like limescale buildup, dry skin, or stains on dishes—all telltale signs of hard water—you'd likely benefit from a water softener. However, if your main concern is over chemicals or bacteria in your tap water filter, and not just comfort, a filter is a better option.

Whether you need a license or permit for water softener installation depends on your location. Some municipalities require the installer to hold a plumbing license, while others may only require a permit and an inspection. In some cases, both a permit and a licensed installer are necessary, and some areas have no requirements at all. Often, only certified plumbers and electricians are allowed to pull the necessary permits. To find out the specific regulations in your area, you can contact your local building department. Alternatively, a local water softener installer or plumber will be familiar with the requirements and can typically pull the permits for you. Regardless of local laws, it is always recommended to hire a licensed professional to ensure the system is sized and installed correctly. You can use tools like Angi’s state licensing tool to verify an installer's license status.

No, hard water isn’t dangerous. The added calcium in hard water can contribute to good bone health. However, it can also cause dry skin and hair. If you have dry skin or hair, consider using a water-softening system to help minimize the minerals in your water. Plus, these systems can also add some sodium to your diet.
