"Wonderful experience with Promise Glass! They came right out, got a very reasonable quote, and ordered the glass we needed for a broken window. Once the glass came in, they let me know and installed the same day! Would 100% use them again and recommend for any glass needs. Thank you for a great experience!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Redline was same day service to measure and send a quote. Glass arrived 4 days later and even though Redline 'squeezed' me into their installation schedule, they were 30 minutes ahead of schedule. Would definitely recommend this company to friends and family."

"We are new to AZ and the home we bought had really heavy glass sliders. Neither my husband nor myself could open or have access to backyard. We contacted True View’s Wesley Taylor who came to our home, gave us good quote, told us when we could expect to have the necessary installation. We received a call the day before and were delighted when Adam Minjarez and David Valenzuela arrived early am and proceeded to do a super job for us. We can open those glass doors easily and for the first time in over a year, we have easy access to our backyard! Thanks True View for great associates and a great job! We really appreciate doing business with you and should the need arrive, we will do so again!"

"Six months ago we hired Greco Roman to replace about one-half of our remaining 30 year old original windows. We liked the work and the company so well that we hired them again to replace the remainder of our original windows. The windows have been expertly installed and add a new beauty to our home. We like the Greco Roman firm and its employees very much. They are easy to deal with, highly professional, responsive to our needs and reasonable in cost. Most of all, their work is top notch. Many window replacement firms simply place the new window in the ragged hole left from the old window removal, and cover the irregular opening with a plastic flange around the perimeter of the new window. Greco Roman actually repairs the dry wall and plaster to seal around the new window and restore both the exterior and interior instead of just covering it up. This is a much better method and it takes more work to do it correctly. We appreciate their approach to doing the job right."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is possible to repair a damaged or cracked mirror, but whether you should do it yourself depends on the extent of the damage. For minor issues like small chips, cracks, and scratches, you can use a DIY approach. Resin-based repair kits can fix minor cracks, while scratches can often be removed with metal polish, nail polish, baking soda, or a glass polisher. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the best results.

However, for more significant damage, DIY repair is not recommended. Repairing and resilvering mirrors is a delicate process that can involve caustic chemicals and requires a high level of precision. The materials for a DIY attempt can cost over $100, which may not be a significant saving compared to hiring a professional. Since a failed attempt could result in more damage and higher repair costs, it is often better to hire a mirror repair expert from the start, especially for large, valuable, or extensively damaged mirrors.

Shower doors can shatter on their own in rare cases. Glass shower doors are manufactured to high standards to ensure their durability. If you’d prefer a shower door that’s less likely to break, opt for laminated glass rather than tempered glass. If you have glass shower doors, inspect them regularly. Check that all the hardware is in good shape and the glass has no chips or cracks.

There’s no exact formula to calculate the cost of your mirror, but a few guidelines will help you estimate the price tag you can expect. The bigger the mirror, the higher the cost—and the same goes for thickness. Customizations will largely depend on the labor required, so think about how long your design will take and multiply that by your contractor’s hourly rate.

While finding your mirror cracked can be spooky, there are actually many logical and common reasons why this happens. First, the mirror may have been mounted unevenly in the first place. Over time, poor mounting leads to stress points that will eventually cause a mirror to crack. Other common causes of a mirror spontaneously cracking include dramatic temperature shifts, strong thunder or a loud crash somewhere in the distance, exposure to heat and sunlight, and an uneven wall in your home. It's also possible that your mirror had a manufacturing defect or microscopic cracks that occurred during glass cutting or handling that eventually caused it to shatter.

The easiest way for DIYers to smooth the edges of cut glass is to use sandpaper. Wearing protective gloves, gently sand the sharp edges smooth using low-grit sandpaper and working up to high-grit sandpaper. You can also use a multitool with a rotating sandpaper cylinder to make quicker work of the project.
