"Great and I had already purchased the part, just needed him to remove the tank to replace it, but he also replaced another part for me free of charge so all the parts are new! He also told me that for just about $10 more , if there's ever a next time or one of my other 2 toilets need repair, he can put in a whole new tank, parts and all! Great guy, did a great job, didn't take much time, didn't charge me the $20 for service fee! I will definitely keep his card and call him if I need a plumber again!"

"

USE THIS PROVIDER!!!!!

I am so glad that we found Cobra Rooter.  Water Heater went out, we had called another provider and got an outrageous quote.  Called Cobra who was able to come out within an hour and was 1/3rd the cost of the quote by the other provider.

They were friendly, profession, responsive, knowledgeable.   Even did a small side job for us while they were there.

Honestly, one of the best experiences with plumbing service and at an incredibly reasonable rate.  They are going into our rolodex of trusted providers and will use them for all our plumbing needs in the future.

"Why does it cost 2% of the value of the home to get a portion of the pluming fixed? Being an old man on a fixed income I could not afford to get all that was needed done. I hope to afford to pay for another portion some day. Do you know of any way to make plumbing prices more affordable?"

"They replaced my tankless water heater, under sink valves with quarter turn ball valves and three toilets. The price was fair, a little high, but the quality of work and service was excellent. These plumbers know what they are doing. They were timely and had good communication."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

In Mesa, plumbing permits are generally required for new installations, major repairs, water heater replacements, sewer line work, and backflow prevention device installation. You must apply through the Mesa Development Services Department, and all work must comply with the International Plumbing Code as adopted by Arizona. Inspections—including rough-in, pressure, and final checks—are conducted by city inspectors to ensure compliance with Mesa plumbing regulations.

Helpful?

Taking a DIY approach in Mesa can offer flexibility and save on labor, but risks include misunderstandings of plumbing permits, code violations, and lack of warranty. Hiring a licensed Mesa plumber ensures compliance with local plumbing regulations, proper permit handling, and warranty protection. While professional services may limit your project control, they help avoid costly mistakes and ensure work meets city and state standards.

Helpful?

For Mesa's arid climate and mineral-rich water, copper and PEX piping are preferred due to their resistance to corrosion and durability. CPVC is suitable for hot water lines, especially underground. For sewer lines, cast iron performs well in alkaline soil, while PVC is standard for drains and vents. Avoid galvanized steel and polybutylene, as they are prone to failure in Mesa's unique soil and water conditions.

Helpful?

In Mesa, regular plumbing maintenance is essential due to hard water and extreme summer heat. Flush your water heater every six months to reduce mineral buildup, insulate exposed pipes before monsoon season, and clean drains monthly. Annual backflow testing is required by the Mesa Water Resources Department. Inspect outdoor plumbing for UV damage and check irrigation systems each spring to address issues unique to Mesa's desert environment.

Helpful?

In Mesa, unexpected costs may include additional permits, city inspections, or upgrades to meet current plumbing codes. Hard caliche soil often requires specialized equipment for excavation, and restoring desert landscaping after trenching can add to the workload. Hard water buildup may reveal hidden pipe damage, and installing required backflow prevention devices or upgrading main service lines can increase the project's complexity and time frame.
