"Excellent service - I needed the concrete pillar attached to my gate latch removed so that my new gate could be installed. The new gate company contacted me only the day before install. Since you can't leave your back gate wide open over night I tried to demo myself the next morning but the pillar was too solid to demo with a sledgehammer. I was panicked needing to find a company who could come out ASAP in the morning before the installers. Several good reviews on Nextdoor for Skill Set so I called and left a message and they immediately called back and they were out in an hour. Great communication by text and Robert was very nice and did an excellent job with the demo. Great price too that I paid via Venmo. Highly recommended and I would definitely call them again for handyman services - though I hope it's not an ASAP situation again! My heroes - thank you so much! :)"

"Worked on adjusting our exterior doors and trimming our interior doors to accommodate for carpet. Everything was done in a professional manner and at a great price. We would hire Terry in a heartbeat for our future projects."

"Joel Espinoza did a wonderful job fixing the area where the doorbell goes messed up by a different company. He also did a great job installing the Ring doorbell. I would highly recommend the Espinoza's. Thanks Joel! ??"

"Jesus and his team extended our cement patio. The work was completed on time with excellence. He is detailed, careful, and does what he says he will do, including leaving the job site clean. I plan on calling him for more work in the future. One more thing, he has a tendency to do more than expected."

"Anthony and his crew did an amazing job, just as we agreed. When Anthony did the final inspection, he didnâ t like the integrity of part of one of the fences. He recalled the crew and they retrofitted it to a vastly superior and sturdier design. I highly recommend this company for being polite, accommodating, trustworthy, and for their awesome attention to detail."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Bioethanol fireplaces are safe when users follow the instructions and maintain the fireplace. Ethanol is flammable, however, and should be kept away from flammable surfaces, children, and pets.

Yes, it’s worth capping a chimney. Here are several reasons to install a chimney cap:

  • Keep out rain, snow, wildlife, and other debris

  • Help prevent chimney fires

  • Reduce your chimney’s exposure to moisture

  • Maintain your chimney flue liner

  • Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature

While your municipality may have its own regulations requiring pergolas or other structures to be a certain height above a fire pit, the standard recommendation is that the pergola should be at least 10 feet above the fire pit. A taller pergola allows the heat from the flames to dissipate before reaching the structure.

An outlet can start a fire if it has blown a fuse, or is sparking, overheating, or smells burnt. Prevent electrical fires by unplugging the device connected to the outlet and hiring an electrician to determine and fix the outlet’s issue. If the outlet stays hot or isn't working, you should fix it.

You can’t gauge the lifetime of a fire door like you could, say, an engine. Fire doors should be checked at least once every six months to ensure there are no signs of degradation like leaks, holes, water damage, termite damage, or anything else that might compromise the functionality of the door’s fire resistance. Check your smoke detectors while you’re at it.
