"FCI did an excellent job. Jason was very thorough in his explanation of the job and his estimate. They made it very convenient for us by taking our flooring to Finished Edge and ordering that for us and also picking up our flooring from the flooring company without charging us. We liked that Jason was involved in the project the whole time. He checked in every day to see how the project was going and acted as a project manager. When the installers found out that our floor needed leveling Jason called and sent my husband and I pictures of the floor and came over and showed me what needed to be done rather than just charging me. The installation crew was also polite and worked hard and steady the whole time from about 8-6 every day. Overall we were very impressed with the whole process and our floor turned out beautiful."

"Our bamboo floor was damaged due to a water leak inside wall between bedroom and family room. We hired Company to dry and restore damaged. After drying was done they didn’t do anything for over two months, so we found Midwest Hardwood Flooring on Angi. Larry and Bobbie came over gave us estimate and offered to pick up flooring from store. They start working on the flooring right after drywall install was done and everything was done in less than 3 days. Our floors look great. They did fantastic job on repairs and looks like we never had any damage on the floor. Larry, Bobby and Mario were great and respectful. We’re overjoyed to have our house “back” after more than 3 months of mess."

"The team at Best Floor Coatings was diligent, professional and a pleasure to work with. They did an incredible job with my project and were prompt each day for the project. They even accommodated the rainy weather by coming on a Sunday to finish my job. I highly recommend Best Floor Coatings and have already provided several neighbors their contact info. "My installers were Rod, Ray, and Fernando. They did an incredible job on my floor! They worked hard, but didn't rush. I really appreciated that. I will hire Guardian Garage Floors again if the need arises. They are Veteran owned, and have competitive prices."

"Bono did a great job on the floor and did it quickly. He suggested another change which I wasn't planning but it was the best decision ever. My new stone wall looks fantastic. Bono is such a great guy and easy to work with."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

If you hire a professional to install a new floor, you can expect to pay between $50 and $75 per hour for labor. It takes two days on average to install a new floor as part of a bathroom remodeling project, but your timeline depends on your bathroom’s size and layout.

The rule of three for flooring means that you should have a maximum of three flooring types throughout your home, such as hardwood in your bedroom and living room and tile in your kitchen and bathroom. The rule brings cohesion to your home and creates a seamless look. By using the same material, you also save money on future repairs.

Yes, professional services include leveling and moisture testing before installation.

Ultimately, it’s a matter of personal preference. However, as a rule of thumb, lighter-colored carpets and walls will open up a room and often make it feel larger than it really is. On the other hand, darker shades tend to shrink a space, making it feel cozier. By mixing and matching light and dark colors, you can add dimension to the room.

If you have a concrete subfloor, you must secure the carpet padding with adhesive or glue. However, if you have a wooden subfloor, use staples instead. Removing a glued-down carpet can be difficult and time-consuming, so it’s best to avoid glue when possible.
