"Big horn was quick, but did the job correctly. They thought of everything before they started the install of my overhead racks in my garage. They asked thoughtful questions to make sure I was going to get the most utilization out of my product that I purchased. Great job guys!"

"Mark was amazing! He redid a shed for my elderly father, installed a railing in the garage for him, and a few other fixes. He was professional and on time every time! Would recommend him to anyone!!"

"Miguel was amazing. We had walls that needed some major repairs and he was able to make them look better than new. He also replaced some baseboards for us. We are definitely hiring him for future projects. We would most definitely recommend him for any home project."

"Quali G Construction was amazing. My husband and I discussed with the owner what we wanted and he made it happen. We are very happy with the results. We had the interior and exterior house painted, pergolas built in the front and back of the house, privacy screens installed, new electrical panel, a sliding door leading to the pool, an outdoor kitchen, new soltio tiles in the family room and dining room, installed light fixtures. They accommodated us with last minute changes too. The team of workers worked so hard. I would certainly use them again. Thank you so much!"

"Matt did a great job on an older front door which had not been installed properly to begin with. The job turned out to be more time consuming than he had originally anticipated but he held true to his estimate. I would have no trouble referring Matt to family, friends and collegues. He is honest and the price he quoted was very reasonable for the service he provided. He is a master with doors. Thanks Matt. Jodie in Phoenix"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

You can safely build a fire pit on your patio as long as you use porous, fire-resistant pavers or a fire pit mat over existing pavers. Otherwise, you’ll need to have exposed ground beneath your pit. You’ll also need to make sure the location for the fire pit is far enough away from your house and any other nearby structures.

Beyond having an inspection, it’s important to do chimney maintenance at least annually to be certain the chimney is safe to use. Cleaning the flue of any built-up particles, creosote, and soot reduces the risk of fire. Fortunately, the cost of hiring a pro to do a chimney inspection often includes a chimney cleaning, so you may not have an extra expense for maintenance.

DIY cleaning is possible, but professionals ensure thorough soot removal and check for hazardous creosote buildup.

You should only use water to put out a fire in your fireplace in an emergency situation. Even then, it is better to use a fire extinguisher to put out a fire quickly. Make sure every room in your house that has a fireplace also has a fire extinguisher—and that everyone in your household knows how to use one.

You don’t have to put smoke detectors in every room. At a minimum, though, there should be one on every level of your home, one in every bedroom, and one in the hallways outside the bedrooms. If you have a floor without bedrooms, place a smoke detector in the living room or next to any stairs that lead to an upper level. Attics and basements should also have at least one smoke alarm.
