"The scheduling and price quote via phone had problems. I called to change the scheduled date over 24 hours in advance but they did not tell the installer, who then showed up one day early. Also, although I told them that I had a 60” TV, I was quoted the price for a smaller TV. This had to be corrected when the tech arrived. The tech was prompt, professional, flexible, and friendly. Did a great job."

"Tim and Mike arrived on time. Tim analyzed the existing wiring and got right to work. He went into the attic and dropped two cable lines into each room. He had a wall mount on his truck that would work for the bedroom TV and offered it to me. He went to get some needed parts and in two hours had both TVs installed and working. Tim was training Mike and they worked well together as a team. Mike did a great job helping with the installation. They took time to discuss options with me for other areas in my home for TVs and sound system. Tim is very busy and had to cancel my first appointment so I had to reschedule. I think the price was reasonable for the installation, wall mount and parts. Tim is very personable and very knowledgeable and conscientious about doing the job right. The work was neat and professional. I will definitely hire him again and will recommend him to others.

"Bishop and Son Home Appliance Repair was a 50/50. He tried to fix something that I had originally called him for, it just didn't work out. It was partly the appliance's fault and partly his fault but he dragged it out an awful long time. He never called back to keep me in the loop."

TV Antenna questions, answered by experts

Annual checks for damage or misalignment and ensuring clean connections.

If you’re having problems with poor reception, here are some simple tips that may help improve the signal and picture quality.

  • Consider the position of the antenna: Could it be higher, is it secure, or are nearby obstructions interfering with the signal? For a directional antenna, you may need to reposition it in the direction of the broadcast tower.

  • Move any metallic objects: Metal can interfere or block reception, so if you have stainless steel objects or the antenna is near a wrought-iron fence, this could be a problem. Try to keep the antenna at least six feet away from metal objects..

  • Cable length: An overly long cable can reduce signal strength. If you don’t need as much cable as you are using, it may be better to exchange it for a shorter one.

Options include outdoor, indoor, and rooftop antennas. Choose based on signal needs and location.

Yes, they assess geographic and structural factors to recommend suitable models.

The shorter the coaxial cable, the better. The further you run the cable, the more signal loss you'll experience. At 50 feet, you'll see significant signal loss, and by 100 feet, you'll experience at least a 30% drop in signal strength.
